Yet another customer testsailing? Not quite, as this time we were out with a rather prominent, professional race sailor:

Per Roman, Swedish-American owner driver of the highly competetive GP42 GARM - race team, recent winner of 2026 Sardinias Cup, vice ORC world champion and second in Coppa del Rey, is a true living sailing legend.

Last Tuesday Per paid a visit to the Pure Yachts factory and of course put our Pure 42 "Tom Kyle" through its gears, too, in a fresh 20 knots breeze.
Accompanied by his daughter Liv, who is a capable race sailor too, he wanted to find out if a Pure aluminium yacht would come up with enough sailing thrill and quality to eventually become the next family performance cruiser ...

Appearantly chances are good, as the smiles in the faces and the thumb-ups indicate. On his instagram-account Per commented:

".yachts delivering a n impressive sailing experience in 15-23kn of wind. A true go-anywhere boat and getting there rather fast."

Thanks, Per! What a great day on the water.

Pure 42 # 2 ... roof's on!
Another one in beautiful bright orange again – no wonder, as the boat will go to Holland.

As promised last week, Silke Schneider, Schleswig-Holsteins Minister of Finances, has signed up on our Pure 42 for a nice afterwork sailing yesterday.

Although claiming to be a complete rookie to our sport, she took the wheel – and instantly proved great skills as a helmsman. Naturally, one could say, as she is smoothly steering one of our state governments major offices day by day.

Silke and her assistant Claudia thoroughly relished the views of Kiels beautiful waterfront and what only can be described as "champage sailing conditions", Urs and I on our side enjoyed the charismatic company and the interesting conversation, offering a very personal insight into the work and duties of a high ranked politician.

To me it came clear once more, how much responsibility, discipline and sacrifice it takes to fill an office like this – and that in times, where ever so often politicians are quickly blamed, insulted or written down by press, we'd all be well advised to pay more respect to those who run and uphold our democratic structures.

Although it still doesn't look like it - we are quickly sailing up the final beat towards finishing our second Pure 42!

Last week, hull and deckssaloon windows went in, handrails push- and pulpits were testfitted. Next stop will be the fitting of the decksaloon roof.

Yesterday we had a very special guest at Pure Yachts:

Schleswig Holsteins Minister of Finances, Mrs. Silke Schneider, visited our yard as part of her yearly summer tour.
The tour takes her all across the country for two weeks to meet up with comitted citizens, local representatives and succesful entrepreneurs – such as our Co-founder Urs Kohler is one.

Urs took his time to show the Minister around our production site, explaining her how our Pure Yachts are beeing build and why this makes such a special story.
Mrs. Schneider was quite impressed by the high tech machinery and the complexety of the building processes, but especially liked the obvious enthusiasm of our staff.
A special note came into play here, when she learned, that Jule, our year-three-boatbuilding-apprentice, who accompanied the little delegation as our inhouse photographer, is almost professional in international yacht racing. Confessing to be a complete novice to sailing herself, she nevertheless straight away accepted Urs' and Jules invitation for a little test sail on our Pure 42.

I think we might report on this event, too, which is already agreed to take place in the very near future.
