The past Economic Forum welcomed German Ambassador Thomas Ossowski as guest speaker - his last speech in front of the German-Philippine business community.
Ambassador Ossowski will return in a couple of days back to home soil and held his last speech in the Philippines at the German Club Manila.
GPCCI President Dr. Bodo Goerlich pointed out that the Ambassador's work has always been shaped to help improve the German-Philippine business relations. In the name of GPCCI, Dr. Goerlich ended his welcome remarks with a warm-hearted "Danke schön" - thank you.
Throughout his speech, the Ambassador stressed that the relations between Germany and the Philippines have to be as close as possible in an "ever changing globalizing world where geographical distance loses its meaning". He complimented the German institutions in the Philippines, which help to bring the cooperation between both countries forward. Also, Ambassador Ossowski expressed his hopes that President Duterte will continue the fight against corruption and strengthen the rule of law.
The Ambassador concluded that "the train is moving in the right direction" and the Philippines are a country with a dynamic market which offers many opportunities for German companies.
