The hype now is all about digitization and transformation, and if you throw in a word about SAFe and agile, you are bound to attract attention. We all nod and seem to agree that transformation is the thing to do in a world on speed.
But reality bites and it is always easier said than done to change. Which is why it is vital to incorporate change management activities in your projects or ART's from day one. Communication, training and organizational design are pivotal no matter what you change.
We gave a talk in Stockholm Nov 1st at the AWS Transformation day about how to manage organizational change during a cloud transformation. This sounds a lot like it is all about how to get the cloud to do your thing, but that is the easy part. Cloud transformation, or any other transformation, is like a relationship between lovers.
You got to want it bad, make space and time for it and work on it every single day, and not only as a band-aid when all has gone pear-shaped. If you are a manager and think that everybody else must do the changing, while you go about and do your usual thing, then don’t set the transformation train in motion. Digitization and transformation are about getting people to do things differently. You start it and you end it.
