🇩🇲 GROWING UP IN MARIGOT, … LIFE WAS DIFFERENT! ❤️

There was no daycare!😂

Some of us grew up with grandma, auntie, uncle, a neighbor, or older siblings and cousins looking out for us while our parents went to work. The village had its own way of making sure the children were cared for. ❤️

We played outside, made memories with our siblings, cousins, friends, and learned lessons that no classroom could teach us. Those were good old days.😍

Today, parents have to calculate daycare cost, after-school care, transportation, and a dozen other expenses just to keep up with work and family responsibilities.

Sometimes, I wonder… have we really made life easier, or has it just been made more expensive? 🤔

One thing I know for sure: time with our children is precious, and no paycheck can replace every moment we miss.

That’s one reason I took a chance on the digital space — options that give us greater flexibility, more time with our loved ones, and the opportunity to build a future on our own terms.

Let’s take a little trip down memory lane! 🥰

👇🏽 If you grew up in Dominica or another Caribbean village, tell me:

Did you have daycare growing up, or did the whole village help raise the children?

Drop your village or island in the comments! 🇩🇲❤️
