GELEH is founded to fill in the know-how gap that hinders most of the policy makers in the MENA region from taking into account the gender implications of their decisions. with this regards, GELEH will be the window through which policy makers in the region can examine the experiences of other countries in adopting gender-main-streaming approach on different levels. OUR GOAL
GELEH works on
- Identifying gaps in laws, reviewing implementation mechanisms, international and local strategies, and their compatibility with the justice system and human rights
- Providing legal and technical advice to policy makers and decision makers at the official level, international institutions, and business owners
- Participation in relevant international and regional conferences to contribute to policymaking globally, regionally, and locally
- Analysing laws and making proposals for amendment to the concerned authorities and legislators. Thus, GELEH seeks sheding the light on the importance of gender research and its positive impact on policy making, to eventually achieve gender-integrated public policies promoting for social change and gender equality.
