Dr. Mohamed Amer is an independent consultant, lecturer/trainer, and researcher. He is an expert member of the ICOMOS International Cultural Tourism Committee. He participated in the ICOMOS International Charter for Cultural Heritage Tourism (2022) and multiple international heritage projects in Egypt, Oman, Sweden, and Italy. He has PhD in heritage marketing and sustainable cultural tourism from
Roma Tre Uni. Moreover, he obtained M.A. in Heritage Conservation and Site Management from BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg (Germany). As a consultant, he has ten years of professional and academic experience providing technical services and studies in assessing the outstanding values and cultural significance of (UNESCO World Heritage) heritage sites, the development and rehabilitation of historic buildings and urban/rural/cultural landscapes, a framework for the (strategic) heritage management plan, and proposing heritage marketing directions, visitor management, interpretation and cultural tourism activities. He presents interdisciplinary capacity-building programs in heritage studies in cooperation with various international universities and organizations. Additionally, he has qualified experience and skills in coordination, teaching, research, collecting data, designing questionnaires and interviews, administration, project/program management, public relations/speaking, event management, and NGO management.
