El Zanaty & Associates for Studies and Research was established on 1995. It was found to provide quality research and studies on various areas such as; environment, water resource and agriculture, population, family planning and health issues. The researches include mainly national surveys (cross sectional, KAP….). The firm’s primary objective has been to participate in the improvement of various
services and conditions in Egypt by providing reliable data and sound recommendations that can help in policy reform programs. The firm has long experience in conducting KAP Surveys at the national level. The KAP surveys conducted by the firm were in different areas; health, environment, and water resources and agriculture. Among these surveys was the Baseline KAP of Egyptian farmers towards Water Resources on 1998. Recently the firm gained intensive experience in Quality of Care Management through conducting the Egypt Service Provision Assessment Survey and other facility-based surveys that involve Quality of Care Managements. The firm has also gained an experience in conducting qualitative studies. The qualitative methods that were used by the firm include; in-depth interviews focus group discussions, participatory rapid appraisal (PRA) technique, case studies and participant observation. In addition, in many of the quantitative studies conducted by El Zanaty & Associates , qualitative methods were included to complement and support the quantitative data. The firm’s responsibilities vary from one survey to another, but generally El Zanaty & Associates was responsible for carrying out each of the following activities in many of the surveys implemented by the firm:
A. Sample design and selection, including updating the frame, quick count, and listing if needed. Questionnaire development, either independently or in collaboration with the sponsor agencies. The firm is also responsible for conducting a pretest for the questionnaires. Field Staff Recruiting and Training. The training includes both in-house and field training. Data collection and Field Staff Supervision; including call backs and re-interview. Quality Control procedures which include effective supervision, field editing and office editing of questionnaires. Data entry and verification (Re-entry) for 100 % of the data. In the entry stage, the firm usually prepares a consistency program to guarantee the consistency of the data. The firm is responsible for conducting the statistical analysis needed with the agreement of the sponsor agencies. The staff of the firm usually shares in writing the report. The firm is also responsible for preparing presentations of the main findings of the surveys.
تأسس مكتب الزناتى ومشاركوه للدراسات والبحوث فى عام 1995. وتشمل البحوث التى يقوم بها دراسات على مستوى عالي من الجودة فى مختلف المجالات مثل البيئة ،الموارد المائية والزراعة ، والسكان ،وتنظيم الأسرة الصحة. وتشمل البحوث التي قام المكتب بتنفيذها أساسا المسوح القومية (مسوح مقطعية ، معرفة سلوكيات واتجاهات…). الهدف الرئيسي للمكتب هو المشاركة فى تحسين الخدمات المختلفة وخاصة فى مجال الصحة الإنجابية وتنظيم الأسرة وذلك من خلال تقديم بيانات دقيقة واقتراحات مسموعة تساعد فى رسم سياسات تحسين البرامج
مكتب الزناتى ومشاركوه لديه خبرة طويلة فى إجراء بحوث تقييم أثر التداخلات المختلفة على المعرفة والسلوكيات والاتجاهات في مجالات مختلفة "الصحة والبيئة و الموارد المائية و الزراعة". من ضمن هذه البحوث "بحث تقييم المعرفة والاتجاهات وسلوكيات المزارعين نحو استهلاك المياه 1998". تم إثراء خبرات المكتب أيضاً ببحوث عن جودة الإدارة من خلال إجراء مسح دراسة عناصر تقديم الخدمة الصحية في مصر و مسوح لوحدات صحية أخرى والتي تضمنت قياس جودة الإدارة
اكتسب المكتب أيضاَ خبرة في إجراء الدراسات الكيفية. اشتملت الوسائل الكيفية التي استخدمها المكتب على؛ مقابلات تفصيلية متعمقة، مجموعات نقاش بؤرية، البحث السريع بالمشاركة، دراسات الحالة، و ملاحظات المشاركين. اشتملت الكثير من الدراسات الكمية التي أجريت من خلال الزناتى ومشاركوه على الوسائل الكيفية لتكملة ومساندة البيانات الكمية
تختلف مسئوليات المكتب من بحث لآخر ولكن يمكننا القول بصفة عامة أن الزناتى ومشاركوه مسئول عن تنفيذ كل الأنشطة المذكورة بأسفل في كثير من المسوح التي تم تنفيذها من خلال المكتبأ) تصميم واختيار العينة وتشمل: تحديث الإطار، العد السريع، والحصر فى حالة الحاجة
ب) تصميم الاستمارات إما بصفة مستقلة أو بالتعاون مع الجهة الراعية للبحث. أيضاَ المكتب مسئول عن إجراء تجريب أولى للاستمارات
ج) توظيف وتدريب فريق العمل. يشمل التدريب على التدريب المكتبي والتدريب الميداني
د) جمع البيانات والإشراف على فريق العمل الميداني، استيفاء المقابلات التي لم تتم في العمل الميداني وإعادة المقابلة
هـ) إجراء مراقبة الجودة وتشمل الإشراف الفعال، المراجعة الميدانية للإستمارات بالإضافة إلى المراجعة المكتبية
و) إدخال البيانات وإعادة الإدخال لــ100 % من البيانات . يقوم المكتب أيضاَ بإعداد برنامج اتساق في خلال مرحلة الإدخال لضمان اتساق البيانات
ز) المكتب مسئول في أغلب المسوح عن إجراء التحليل الإحصائي المطلوب مع موافقة الجهة الراعية للبحث
ح) المكتب مسئول عن المشاركة في كتابة التقرير النهائي.والمكتب مسئول أيضاً عن إعداد عرض تقديمي عن النتائج الأساسية للمسوح
