The Fiestas Virgen del Carmen are among the most important traditions on the Costa Blanca, celebrating the patron saint of sailors. For generations, the people of El Campello have honoured their deep connection with the Mediterranean through music, processions, fireworks and a spectacular maritime celebration.

The highlight takes place on 16 July, when the Virgen is carried from the harbour onto a fishing boat and escorted across the bay by dozens of decorated vessels. In the evening, the procession returns to shore, followed by one of the largest fireworks displays of the year.

Expect busy streets, a festive atmosphere and many local businesses adjusting their opening hours throughout the day. It's one of the most authentic experiences you can witness in El Campello.
