With chronic stress, chronic pain, chronic illness…
Sometimes the only thing that is going to make a difference is to take that frightening walk down into the dark forest of our soul.
Sometimes our thinking, our biology, our emotions, our nervous system habits, have become so entrenched, that the only way to have the courage to face what we have to face, is by having someone who can hold our hand, and support us, as we walk into that dark forest. The only way to confront and not turn our head away from the terrible beast that lies there—the one destroying our well-being and health—is knowing someone is there to witness us.
It is difficult to behold the beast… and we will find so many ways to avoid it, by not entering the woods, not looking at the beast right in the eye.
But this is what we have to do, if we want to get to the bottom of it.
We have to look at it straight in the eye, to behold it, and be with it.
Sometimes, when pain cycles have been too great, and recurring, we are too exhausted to find the path alone.
We need someone’s compassionate and humble hand, that can hold us as we walk down that deep, dark place, to find that cave where cob webs, and beastly snoring can be heard.
Have someone that can hold our hand, while we shake the beast awake. And with our eyes and heart, meet it. Fully.
We need that neutral, compassionate, witness, that won’t slay the dragon for us, that won’t do the heavy lifting, just give us the courage to look, and see.
Finding that path in the dark woods, and the thought of the beast we want to avoid at all cost, stops us from the descent.
But…
This descent is our solace.
This descent is our freedom from chronic everything.
Once we see, our body will know, our body will do its genius, and reconfigure.
Our biology, with a neutral witness, will reorganize and find freedom to do what it has yearned to do since our birth, support us.
This neutral, attuned witness, is our campanion for the descent
…so the alchemy can occur.
