Licenciada en Biología por la Universidad de Oporto, ha complementado su formación con un máster en Ciencias Ambientales y especializaciones en ecoturismo, gobernanza, planificación estratégica y sostenibilidad.

She holds a degree in Biology from the University of Porto and has complemented her academic background with a Master’s in Environmental Sciences, along with specializations in ecotourism, governance, strategic planning, and sustainability.

As part of the municipal government of Vila Pouca de Aguiar, she has led key initiatives in tourism, environment, and rural development. Her deep involvement with the Ways of St. James has made her an active member of both the Portuguese and European Federations, helping to consolidate cultural routes as tools for cooperation and sustainable growth.

🇩🇴🤝🇻🇦 Reunión en Roma por el futuro del turismo religioso dominicano.

El pasado jueves 28 de Mayo, en Roma se llevó a cabo una reunión entre la Coordinadora Nacional de República Dominicana, Catherine Forde para la Red Mundial de Turismo Religioso y el Sr. Víctor Suárez, Embajador de la República Dominicana ante la Santa Sede, acompañado por el Sr. Alberto Villarroel, Consejero de la Embajada.

Durante el encuentro, se conversó sobre el trabajo que viene realizando la Red para impulsar el turismo religioso a nivel global, y se exploraron estrategias para posicionar la oferta espiritual y cultural de la República Dominicana. El embajador mostró gran interés en reunirse próximamente con el Director del Tourism and Society Think Tank, Antonio Santos, previa a su reunión con el Ministro de Turismo de la RD.

Una conversación tan inspiradora que el embajador solicitó personalmente una ruta privada para su familia para conocer santuarios emblemáticos de Europa.

🇩🇴🤝🇻🇦 Meeting in Rome for the Future of Dominican Religious Tourism.

Last Thursday, May 28, a meeting was held in Rome between Catherine Forde, National Coordinator for the Dominican Republic in the World Religious Tourism Network, and Mr. Víctor Suárez, Ambassador of the Dominican Republic to the Holy See, accompanied by Mr. Alberto Villarroel, Counselor of the Embassy.

During the meeting, they discussed the work being carried out by the Network to promote religious tourism on a global scale, and explored strategies to position the Dominican Republic's spiritual and cultural offerings. The ambassador expressed strong interest in meeting soon with the Director of the Tourism and Society Think Tank, Antonio Santos, ahead of his scheduled meeting with the Dominican Republic’s Minister of Tourism.

The conversation was so inspiring that the ambassador personally requested a private itinerary for his family to visit iconic sanctuaries across Europe.

🕊️ A professional with a humanistic soul, dedicated to purposeful communication.

📚 Biagio is a journalist, writer, university professor, and content creator. He holds a solid academic background in Communication Sciences, with specializations in journalistic communication, NLP, and Franciscan spirituality. And he has served as communication director and consultant for public and private institutions, and is the author of Creative Communication. He also created Mediametanews24, the first news outlet in the metaverse.

He founded various cultural and anti-poverty organizations, notably proposing the “Citizens’ Solidarity Fund”.

From Italy, Biagio brings an innovative and deeply ethical perspective to religious tourism as a space for connection and transformation.

✨ Itatí avanza con fe hacia un futuro sostenible 🇦🇷

En un espacio cargado de espiritualidad y compromiso, se llevó a cabo el Taller para la Gestión de la Armonía en la Basílica Nuestra Señora de Itatí, Corrientes. Un encuentro de diálogo y acción que reunió a representantes de la Iglesia, autoridades provinciales y municipales, la Federación Económica de Corrientes, CAME y la Red Mundial de Turismo Religioso.

🤝 Juntos trabajaron en propuestas de turismo religioso, urbano y rural como motores de revitalización local, con el objetivo de mejorar la calidad de vida de los vecinos y fortalecer la experiencia de los miles de peregrinos que año a año llegan para venerar a la Virgen.

🕊️ Tras una oración a los pies de la Virgen de Itatí, se dio inicio a una jornada de planificación estratégica que marca el comienzo de un plan de acción territorial sostenible, con metas claras y proyección a futuro.

🌿 La Virgen convoca, el territorio responde y las voluntades se unen para construir un destino de fe, identidad y desarrollo.

In a space charged with spirituality and commitment, the Workshop for the Management of Harmony was held in the Basilica of Our Lady of Itatí, Corrientes. A meeting of dialogue and action that brought together representatives of the Church, provincial and municipal authorities, the Economic Federation of Corrientes, CAME and the World Religious Tourism Network.

Together they worked on proposals for religious, urban and rural tourism as engines of local revitalisation, with the aim of improving the quality of life of the neighbours and strengthening the experience of the thousands of pilgrims who come every year to venerate the Virgin.

🕊️ After a prayer at the feet of the Virgin of Itatí, a day of strategic planning began, marking the start of a sustainable territorial action plan, with clear goals and future projection.

Doctora en Filología Hispánica y diplomada en Egiptología, con un Máster en Ciencias Islámicas, ha sido directora de BANKINTER en España durante 34 años y organizadora de múltiples congresos internacionales en Marruecos, Túnez y la Universidad de El Cairo. También lidera viajes culturales a Egipto con asociaciones diplomáticas españolas.

Actualmente colabora con autoridades egipcias para promover la Ruta Religiosa de los Monasterios Copto-Cristianos, así como museos y lugares de interés espiritual y patrimonial. Egipto —tierra donde confluyen el Islam, el Cristianismo, el Judaísmo y la tradición faraónica— se proyecta como un epicentro de turismo religioso, cultural y sostenible.

A PhD in Hispanic Philology and a certified Egyptologist, with a Master’s in Islamic Sciences, she served for 34 years as Director of BANKINTER (Spain), and has organized major international conferences in Morocco, Tunisia, and Cairo University. She also coordinates cultural trips to Egypt with Spanish diplomatic associations.

Currently, she works with Egyptian authorities to promote the Religious Route of Coptic-Christian Monasteries, as well as museums and sacred heritage sites. Egypt —a land where Islam, Christianity, Judaism, and Pharaonic traditions converge— stands as a powerful center of spiritual, cultural, and sustainable tourism.

✨ Luján rumbo a los 400 años del Milagro de la Virgen.

La ciudad de Luján, corazón espiritual de la Argentina y uno de los principales destinos de peregrinación del continente, fue incorporada oficialmente como miembro de la Red Mundial de Turismo Religioso (RMTR). 🇦🇷

📍 En una emotiva ceremonia en el Palacio Municipal, el Intendente Leonardo Boto recibió el certificado de membresía de manos del Lic. Adrian Lomello, Director Territorial para América de la RMTR.

El acto también contó con la participación de Hugo Sartor, responsable de turismo religioso del municipio, quien presentó las acciones que se vienen realizando para fortalecer la atención a los visitantes y potenciar la experiencia cultural y turística.

The city of Luján, the spiritual heart of Argentina and one of the main pilgrimage destinations in the continent, has been officially welcomed as a member of the World Religious Tourism Network (WRTN). 🇦🇷

📍 In an emotional ceremony held at the City Hall, Mayor Leonardo Boto received the membership certificate from Lic. Adrián Lomello, WRTN’s Regional Director for the Americas.

The event also featured Hugo Sartor, the city's religious tourism coordinator, who shared the ongoing efforts to enhance visitor experiences through cultural initiatives and diverse tourism offerings.

🙏 With over 7 million pilgrims visiting the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Luján each year —the patroness of Argentina— the city continues to stand as a center of faith, history, and devotion.
