‼️TRAFFIC POLICE‼️

1. No traffic officer is allowed to get and keep your license, they are only allowed to get your details off it.
You are not required to have a category (professional driving permit) if you are driving a vehicle for private use.

Yesterday, I met a native Singaporean (at a friends office) and enquired about the car ownership process there.
Apparently, every year they release limited permits to buy a car and that permit goes on a bidding. Sometimes the bidding price can be as low as 25,000 USD (equivalent), But currently it’s at around 92,000 USD !

if you bid for it and win the permit, then you can go buy a car. An average sedan costs about 100,000 USD.
Plus, parking, space in apartments is very expensive.
That’s the reason car ownership is so low in Singapore. Of course, their taxis are very clean, neat and affordable and plenty of public transport.

At some Singapore intersections you can swipe your Senior’s Card and the crossing light will stay green for a little longer, giving you extra time to reach the other side of the road. I find this very touching.
