In ancient Israel, people were commanded to keep the Sabbath (Shabbat) holy. Because many failed to honor it, more and more rules were added—what to do and what not to do—until it became a heavy burden.
But in the New Testament, Sabbath is no longer about strict rules. It is not just “don’t do this” or “don’t do that.”
Now we understand its true meaning.
First, it teaches us to rest physically. After a long week of work, rest is good and necessary.
Second, it reminds us of creation—God rested—and it points us to true rest in Jesus (Yeshua). Real Sabbath is not just a day, but a life of rest in Him.
Finally, it points to the future—the eternal rest God has prepared for His people.
So you must choose which covenant you are living in: law or grace.
Sabbath is no longer just a rule to follow, but a truth to live.
