Most EdTech platforms are built for urban, smartphone-connected students. Qalam flipped the script, designing for rural learners with zero internet and limited power access.
Since joining the EdTech Fellowship by the Mastercard Foundation and Reach for Change, Qalam scaled from 2,000 to 10,000+ users, distributed thousands of offline learning kits, and transformed old plasma TVs into digital classrooms.
Local problems need local, context-aware solutions. Qalam shows what’s possible when design begins at the margins.
