For many children in Finland, summer holidays have now begun, and families across the country are starting their holiday season. Instead of looking far away, there is so much to discover close to home, and Ruissalo is one of those places that makes a few days in Finland feel special.

Summer is on the way and the days are getting warmer, but in the evening it can still feel just right to light the fireplace. There’s something about a wood burning fire that changes the whole feel of a stay: the sound, the warmth, the light in the room. It makes people slow down, stay a little longer at the table, and enjoy the end of the day a bit more.
