🇮🇳 Strengthening a Proven Partnership in Gujarat

At Arciplug®, we believe successful deployment of innovative biogas technology requires more than technology alone. It requires 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐞, 𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐞𝐱𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧 𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬.

We are pleased to take the next step in our collaboration with 𝐔𝐳𝐳𝐚𝐥𝐚 𝐁𝐢𝐨𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬, one of Arciplug®’s long-standing partners in India.

Our cooperation has already been built through real biogas projects and practical project experience. Based on this successful collaboration, Arciplug® and Uzzala Bioenergy Solutions are now strengthening their cooperation in Gujarat.

𝐔𝐳𝐳𝐚𝐥𝐚 𝐁𝐢𝐨𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐬 𝐀𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐮𝐠®’𝐬 𝐞𝐱𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐧 𝐆𝐮𝐣𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭, 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚, 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐜𝐤 𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝟒 𝐓𝐏𝐃.

The country is accelerating its transition towards cleaner, more self-reliant energy – and the growing momentum around CBG is an important part of that journey.

From paddy straw and press mud to animal manure, organic waste and energy crops, India already has enormous renewable resources available locally.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲.

The Government of India’s growing commitment to CBG, including the new 𝐒𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐧 𝐆𝐎𝐁𝐀𝐑𝐝𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞, is a strong signal that this opportunity is being recognized.

𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧 𝐛𝐢𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐜 𝐰𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲, 𝐫𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞.

And that makes 𝑒𝑛𝑒𝑟𝑔𝑦 𝑖𝑛𝑑𝑒𝑝𝑒𝑛𝑑𝑒𝑛𝑐𝑒 especially meaningful on Independence Day.

But scaling CBG is not simply about building more plants.
✔️ It starts with understanding the feedstock.
✔️ It requires technology designed for the materials actually available.
✔️ And it depends on processes that can perform reliably at industrial scale.

For Arciplug®, this is exactly the kind of challenge 𝐏𝐋𝐔𝐆 𝐅𝐋𝐎𝐖 was developed to solve.

𝐀𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐮𝐠®’𝐬 𝐏𝐋𝐔𝐆 𝐅𝐋𝐎𝐖 𝐌𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢 𝐅𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐃𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 is designed for high-solids and demanding feedstocks, helping unlock more value from locally available biomass and turn it into renewable energy.

A smaller reactor mean lower capacity

𝑁𝑜𝑡 𝑛𝑒𝑐𝑒𝑠𝑠𝑎𝑟𝑖𝑙𝑦.

𝐖𝐡𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐚 𝐦𝐨𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐩𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐥𝐞?
There was a time when mobile phones were large because technology gave us no smaller alternative.
Then innovation changed what was possible.
Phones became smaller while their capacity, intelligence and functionality continued to grow.

𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. 𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐰𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐮𝐥𝐞𝐬.
The same principle applies to reactor design.
A compact reactor can simply mean that more of the space inside it is filled with organic material that produces biogas – instead of added water.

Every cubic metre inside a biogas reactor has a purpose.
In many biogas processes, water is added to make pumping and mixing easier – or even possible.
But added water does not produce biogas.

The plant still has to be built and operated to carry it through the entire process.
That means:
✔️ more reactor volume to build
✔️ more mass to heat
✔️ more material to move and manage
✔️ larger digestate storage requirements
✔️ more volume to transport or separate afterwards

𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡-𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐬 𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐦𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐝.
When more organic material is processed per cubic metre, the reactor volume becomes more productive.
But productive reactor volume is not only about what goes inside.
It is also about how the material moves through the process.

In Arciplug®’s PLUG FLOW Multi Feed Digester, the material moves progressively through the reactor. This controlled forward movement keeps fresh feedstock from taking a shortcut to the outlet and helps ensure that the material remains in the reactor for the intended retention time.

By preventing short-circuiting and giving the biological process sufficient time, the reactor is designed to maximise the biogas potential of each feedstock.

The result is more than a smaller footprint.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝗳 𝗽𝗮𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘂𝗽𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗻𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲?

When people compare 𝐏𝐋𝐔𝐆 𝐅𝐋𝐎𝐖 with CSTR, the discussion often starts with the initial investment.
That is understandable. But the reactor price alone does not tell you what the plant will cost to operate.

Think about the difference between a basic mechanical system and a modern vehicle.
The value of a modern car is not simply that it contains more technology.
Its sensors, diagnostics and control systems help reveal what is happening, identify changes and support the right response.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐚 𝐛𝐢𝐨𝐠𝐚𝐬 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭.

A reactor can be a vessel where biomass is processed.
Or it can include process technology designed to control how the material moves, monitor how the biological process responds and help the plant adapt when operating conditions change.

𝐀𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐮𝐠®’𝐬 𝐏𝐋𝐔𝐆 𝐅𝐋𝐎𝐖 𝐌𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢 𝐅𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐃𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐛𝐲 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧.

It combines:
✔️ high-solids process design
✔️ controlled material movement
✔️ reactor monitoring
✔️ automation that supports adjustments when feedstock quality or organic loading changes

This technology affects the upfront price tag.
At the same time, the overall investment remains competitive due to the 𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧, 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐝.

And once the plant is operating, the technology continues to create value:
📊 𝐁𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲
Operators can identify changes in reactor conditions instead of relying only on assumptions.
⚙️ 𝐅𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫, 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐬
Automation supports adjustments to the feeding plan based on actual process data.
⚡ 𝐋𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐝
The entire reactor volume does not need to be continuously mixed like a tank of slurry.
🌾 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐜𝐤 𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲
The process can adapt more effectively when feedstock quality and organic content vary.
📈 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧
Better visibility and control support stable process conditions and reliable production.

This is why the comparison should not stop at:

🌾 40,000 m³/day of biogas – and the learning is just beginning.

Our Ambala project has now surpassed 𝟒𝟎,𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐦³/𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐛𝐢𝐨𝐠𝐚𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 using Arciplug®'s patented 𝐏𝐋𝐔𝐆 𝐅𝐋𝐎𝐖 technology.

We are proud of this milestone.

But this is about more than numbers.

What matters even more is what the project is teaching us.

Paddy straw, or rice straw, is one of the world's most abundant agricultural residues. Yet it remains one of the most challenging feedstocks for biogas production. Its fibrous structure, high lignocellulosic content and seasonal availability mean that, in many regions, it is still burned in the fields instead of being utilized. This is not only an Indian challenge – it can still be seen in many parts of the world.

At Ambala, paddy straw is being converted into renewable biogas through high-solids PLUG FLOW digestion. Cow manure is fed into the process when needed to support biology and maintain stable operation.

One lesson has already become clear:

𝐁𝐢𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬𝐧'𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐚 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐞.
The concrete may be finished.
The steel may be installed.
The automation may be running.

But stable biogas production begins only when the microbial community is ready – and when it has the right environment to thrive.

𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐢𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐚𝐬 𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲.

Those 𝟒𝟎,𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐦³/𝐝𝐚𝐲 represent far more than gas production.
They reflect decades of learning about high-solids digestion and another important step in understanding how challenging agricultural residues can be converted into reliable renewable energy.

We would like to thank our teams, partners, operators and everyone involved in making this milestone possible.

Heat-ready. Winter-ready. Engineered for real-world operation.

We often get asked if 𝐏𝐋𝐔𝐆 𝐅𝐋𝐎𝐖 is suitable for hot climates, cold climates – and everything in between. Because real projects don’t happen in “average conditions.”
𝐘𝐞𝐬 – 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞’𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐤𝐞𝐲 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐞:

Anaerobic digestion doesn’t follow the outdoor temperature.
It follows the 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫.
That’s why 𝐀𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐮𝐠®’𝐬 𝐏𝐋𝐔𝐆 𝐅𝐋𝐎𝐖 𝐌𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢 𝐅𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐃𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 can be engineered for 𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥, 𝐬𝐮𝐛𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥, 𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐝, 𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 – 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬.

What changes with climate is not the core suitability – it’s the 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬:
☀️ 𝐇𝐨𝐭 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬

The process remains stable when the system is 𝐜𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐝, 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝, and when feed, discharge and piping are protected against freezing. In very cold conditions, 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 become key design factors.

A field lesson from 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝: freezing risk often shows up first in pre-treatment unless those sections are designed and protected for winter operation.

Across the biogas sector, project developers, partners, investors and public-sector actors are looking for solutions that can handle real-world feedstocks, use water more efficiently, and support stable, scalable plant design.
This shows growing confidence in a different way to build biogas infrastructure – one that is designed for 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡-𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐬 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐬, 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐚𝐝𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫, and for more practical performance in real operating conditions.

Arciplug®’s 𝐏𝐋𝐔𝐆 𝐅𝐋𝐎𝐖 𝐌𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢 𝐅𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐃𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 is built for exactly that challenge.

For us, this is about more than the number of plants under construction.
It is about helping partners and project developers move forward with solutions that can support:
✔️ 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐁𝐢𝐨𝐠𝐚𝐬 𝐘𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝
✔️ 𝐍𝐨 𝐍𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐝𝐝 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫
✔️ 𝐋𝐨𝐰 𝐄𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 & 𝐄𝐚𝐬𝐲 𝐌𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞
✔️ 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐅𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐬

Every plant under construction represents something bigger:
a step toward 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐬, and 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐜𝐲𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐬.

And in the bigger picture, this is how real transformation starts – not with a single announcement, but with 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐛𝐲 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭, 𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐛𝐲 𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐞, 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐛𝐲 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬.

That is how stronger biogas infrastructure is built.
And that is how the foundation for 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬 is created.
