Innovation and Business Creation Studies A multidisciplinary study module at University of Turku providing knowledge for new business creation and sustainable development within new ventures.

Innovation and Business Creation is a multidisciplinary study module that is based on diverse capabilities within different disciplines at Turku School of Economics and Brahea Development at University of Turku. The module is designed to provide students with a concise skills set to enhance knowledge and understanding of innovation as drivers for value and economic renewal; and facilitate the comp

rehension of business as means for achieving sustainable development within new ventures. After completing the module the student is equipped with working tools for a real business start-up and with an understanding of business development process from the very beginning of a new venture. The student will learn adequate academic and practical skills to be utilised in the modern knowledge intensive business, including for example project management skills, problem solving, creativity and innovation management. There is a restricted attendance in the study module which is open for all faculties of the University of Turku and for certain specified Master’s degree students in Åbo Akademi University. The studies begin annually in September. The students are selected based on their motivation, prior studies and study merits.

Our local business partner Turun Sanomat (www.ts.fi) is conducting a survey to learn what international students living in Turku or South-West Finland think about the current state of local news outlets.

The survey is quick to answer to so we really hope that you could spare a couple of minutes and respond to the survey. By completing the survey by 22.11.2018 you have a chance to win a gift card (worth 30 €) to the K-group stores. The gift card can be used in any K-group stores (K-citymarket, K-supermarket etc.). Turun Sanomat will draw 5 gift cards among the respondents and inform the winners personally.

Hello, hello!

Come along and experience entrepreneurship and its possibilities in the upcoming event "Entrepreneurship as an opportunity for international students", which will be held in SparkUp (Tykistökatu 4b) in 8th of September, 10:00-14:00.

The program includes presentations on entrepreneurship from different perspectives, interactive workshops on business ideation, business model sharpening and pitching. In addition, various supporters of entrepreneurs and new businesses are available during the day.
