Four people/parties/organisations and departments to be blamed here:
- Digitally weak Suva City Council - why isn't surveillance camera in city public areas
- Nuisance Parents of these nuisance kids - can't play their role to keep kids aligned
- Fiji Police - digitally weak to monitor and track city major streets
- Govt of the day - not setting good examples with strict laws and entertaining pardon to bigger criminals like Speight who walked into parliament with guns and now is a free man - this builds a different mindset to many youths

STATEMENT

Members of the public are advised to expect an escalation of joint drug operations between the Fiji Police Force and the Republic of Fiji Military Forces.

The escalation of the joint exercise sends a clear message to those involved in the drug trade and their associates that illegal drug activities will not be tolerated.

The intent of the joint operations remains focussed on dismantling and disrupting criminal networks linked to the drug trade. The joint operations team will be supported by an investigation team, to ensure reports are dealt with swiftly, and due processes to be followed in accordance with the law.

The integrated approach will enhance deploy-ability and response of law enforcement, through the coordination and sharing of resources which will assist in mitigating challenges linked to external global pressures.

Public safety remains a top priority and anyone with information that could assist with current efforts, is urged to call the toll-free, call centre number 1681.
