I must confess I’m a big fan of Pic-Saint-Loup – one of the trendiest appellations in France right now – and this wine meets all my expectations.

A well-crafted wine with complex aromas of ripe black fruits and spice, marked by the garrigue typical of the Languedoc, it’s a perfect match for your favorite meat dishes.

You don’t need a car or a guided tour to explore the wine regions near Paris 🍇

Champagne, Burgundy, the Loire Valley —fast train connections and easy access to world-class wine appellations and great tastings

Here’s how:

Bourgogne Wine Region: Train from Paris Gare de Lyon to Dijon (1h40) or Beaune (2h10 via Dijon). Then, self-guided bike tour (several stops) with pre-booked wine tastings. In Beaune, option to visit beautiful underground cellars with wine tastings

Champagne Wine Region: Train from Paris Gare de l’Est to Reims (45 min) or Epernay (1 hr 20 min). Many great Champagne houses are steps away from the station. The most famous maisons require advance booking.

Alsace Wine Region: Train from Paris Gare de l’Est to Colmar (2h26). Hop on the wine hop-on hop-off bus right in front of the station. Tastings don’t require advance booking.

Bordeaux Wine Region: Take the first train from Paris Montparnasse to Bordeaux (2h10). Some in-town châteaux are easy to reach by bus, tram, or bike. Book tastings in advance.

Val de Loire Wine Region: Train from Paris Gare de Lyon to Tours (1h 10). From there, bike ride to Vouvray (35 min) or train to Montlouis-sur-Loire (15min).
