Ruinart

Ruinart Official page of Maison Ruinart. PLEASE DRINK RESPONSIBLY. Please forward to those of legal age only. Ruinart is the first established House of Champagne in 1729.

Ruinart was founded by Nicolas Ruinart, the nephew of Dom Thierry Ruinart who was one of the first to foresee the potential of sparkling wine and passed on his convictions to his brother and nephew. Nicolas Ruinart, who was a Reims draper like his father, started his first account ledger devoted to the "wine with bubbles" on September 1st, 1729. This ledger serves as the birth certificate for the

first Champagne House ever created. After having secured its foundation, the Ruinart Maison independently carved out its own destiny. The Maison has always remained very authentic and true to itself, acting with a true sense of elegance, refinement and lightness. Maison Ruinart was created at the start of the Age of Enlightenment, period when the arts, particularly table arts, and culture blossomed. And these endure in the most refined dimensions of the House’s heritage. The Ruinart Maison has carried this French Art de Vivre heritage over time and is the best symbol of it today in the world of Champagne. Ruinart has enjoyed such close and long-standing relations with the art world. Today, Ruinart is very committed to contemporary art, and is associated with a number of major international events. The Chardonnay is the very soul of Ruinart. The grape, mainly harvested from the Côte des Blancs and Montagne de Reims terroirs, is at the heart of all our cuvées. With its fresh aromas, vivacity, purity and luminosity, the Chardonnay is the golden thread ruinning through the Ruinart taste. Please only share our posts with those who are of legal drinking age. Any user posts or comments which condone irresponsible drinking will be removed.

A century in Champagne.

A rare expression of the first established Champagne House, Ruinart vintage 1926 reflects the evolution of Maison Ruinart’s expertise, a precious heritage handed down through generations.

In 2023, 18 bottles of Ruinart vintage 1926 were uncovered in the cellar of Chef Paul Bocuse’s restaurant. Now preserved at 4 RUE DES CRAYÈRES, this historical vintage marks its centenary this year, a subtle tribute to the bond uniting a three-star chef, a legendary table, and a great wine.
