The project owner usually finds out about the problem after everyone else.

It's one of the uncomfortable realities of construction. The foreman sees it. The subcontractor knows about it. The project manager hears about it. A meeting is held. A report is written. And somewhere down the line, the owner learns about it.

But by then, the question is no longer "can we prevent this?" It has become "how much is this going to cost us?"

Between the moment a problem appears and the moment the owner becomes aware of it, a lot can happen: another team affected, the schedule shifted, resources wasted, a decision delayed.

You cannot manage what you cannot see.

Three things construction taught us, so you don't have to learn them the expensive way.

After nearly 20 years in industrial construction, you learn the biggest project problems don't always announce themselves. A small coordination issue. A missing update. A defect no one has claimed. But construction is a chain — and when one link weakens, the consequences travel further than the original problem.

Three lessons we learned the hard way:

1️⃣ The problem you cannot see is the one that hurts you most.
Owners don't need more information — they need the right information, at the right time. A well-documented project isn't necessarily a visible one.

2️⃣ Construction problems multiply through dependencies.
One contractor's delay rarely stays with one contractor. The most important question isn't always "who is behind?" — it's "who is affected because someone else is behind?"

3️⃣ A project isn't controlled just because people are working hard.
You can have experienced engineers, competent contractors, weekly meetings and hundreds of pages of reports — and still have unresolved issues. Control comes when everyone knows what's blocking progress, who owns it, and what remains.

إن دعوة أحد الزملاء للانضمام إلى مشروع ما لا تقتصر على مجرد إرسال رابط الوصول إليه. مع FieldShield، يمكنك تحديد مجموعته ودوره منذ مرحلة الدعوة، بحيث يتمتع كل فرد بمستوى الوصول المناسب لمسؤولياته.

Project Owner (PO) أو Contractor (EPC)؛ ثم حدد الدور المناسب، على سبيل المثال Member، ثم أدخل عنوان البريد الإلكتروني و/أو رقم الهاتف.
الخطوة 3 — إرسال الدعوة
انقر على «Send invitation».
يتلقى الموظف بعد ذلك دعوته عبر البريد الإلكتروني ويمكنه الوصول إلى المشروع ببضع نقرات.

« Invite a member » : gardez le contrôle sur les accès de votre équipe

“Invite a member”: maintain control over your team’s access

Inviting a collaborator to a project isn’t simply a matter of sending them an access link. With FieldShield, you can define their group and role right from the invitation process, ensuring everyone has the level of access appropriate to their responsibilities.
The 3 steps of the email invitation:
Step 1 — Select the project
Step 2 — Click the ‘Invite’ button in the top right-hand corner
Choose the group that corresponds to the team member:
Project Owner (PO) or Contractor (EPC); then select the appropriate role, for example Member, and enter their email address and/or telephone number.
Step 3 — Send the invitation
Click on ‘Send invitation’.
