Hi, I’m Carol. I thought it might be time to reintroduce myself, so if you have been following for or while or have recently found me, thank you!
I’ve been tasting, teaching and talking about w**e for 30 years and every day is a w**e school day, there is always something new to learn 🍇🥂🍷
I’ve lived in Aberdeen for 35 years and come from the lovely Victorian seaside resort of Sunny Southport in the north west of England 😎
I run regular w**e tastings in Aberdeen (and sometimes beyond) and am a programme provider for WSET Global
I have a monthly w**e feature in the Scottish papers the Press and Journal and the Courier.
If you are looking for a private, corporate or sports and social club event please get in touch ,I can help!

Another fun Fizz, Fish and Chips at the The Ashvale. last night.
Continuing to spread the Conegliano Valdobbiadene DOCG word with Ruggeri Valdobbiadene
Also very impressed with Vinos Viña Pomal a Garnacha traditional method Blanc de Noirs Reserva from Rioja.
To go with with the fish and chips, it has to be an English sparking w**e, this time it was the turn of Roebuck Estates 2020 Reserve, a classic blend of Chardonnay , Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier.
Think lemon and lime sherbet with a savoury edge, buttery brioche and a basketful of orchard fruit.
Thanks to everyone who joined in 🥂🥂
Looking forward to planning the next, the w**e possibilities are endless but there will always be fish and chips!

Had a marvellous time hosting a nextworking event last night with a theme of the ‘Marvellous Med’ 🍷🍇
I think that I might have found my new favourite rose-Umanu 2025, a blend of Sciaccarellu and Gris de Cinsault, fragrant, pale, dry, with a racy acidity and expressive watermelon peach and red apple. Apologies for the empty bottle pic, everyone else enjoyed it to.
In the name of research, we tried the Frappato from Santa Tresa in Sicily at different levels of chill. The crunchy, aromatic, cherry,berry and spice notes worked a treat and even converted a few white w**e drinkers🍷🍇

It’s always fascinating to line up a range of w**es from the same grape and last night it was the turn of cool climate loving Pinot Noir 🍇🍷
From its Burgundy homeland to New Zealand and destinations in between, there was such a range of styles.
The Blanc de Noirs Brut from Ch*****ne Devaux was a treat and the favourite still red went to Buena Vista 2023 from California 🍷with its scented intense red cherry, raspberry and strawberry and smooth tannin.
