As you’ve probably noticed, I haven’t really been present on here recently. That’s because a couple of years ago I became a director for our family coffee business Mini & Mighty and since then I’ve taken on more and more of a role within the business.

I absolutely loved being a VA and I’m sure it’s something I can return to in the future if I want to, but I’ve realised I need to 100% commit my all to our business and to our family!

So this page will soon be closing but if you want to continue following what I’m up to, you are welcome to come and join the coffee fun over on Mini & Mighty’s page!

I am slowly winding things down and handing things over to my wonderful associates who I couldn’t have continued without these past few years!

I will archive this page in a week or so, and who knows, maybe I’ll relaunch in the future, but for now it’s goodbye. I am so thankful for every single one of my clients, supporters, encouragers and followers over the past 7+ years! You have made me see that I can do anything I put my mind to, and you have certainly changed my life for the better!

I thought it was about time I introduced myself again! To those who are new as followers. My name is Jo Shea and I am a creative virtual assistant. I support small businesses and start ups with content for their website, social media, blogs, newsletters, plus design for branding and logos, images for social posts, leaflets etc for print. As well as the creative side I also have a wide range of admin skills. I have experience working with so many different businesses over the past 6 years, and I am now helping to run a coffee business with my husband as well. Which has broadened my skills even further. If you’re looking for someone who will just do a few odd jobs here and there, or you want someone doing set hours every week on specific tasks, I, and my associates who support me, can do just that! Today is my 6th business birthday! 6 years ago when I started I was a shadow of myself. Since having my youngest, especially, I had really struggled with my mental health. The thought of going back to work filled me with fear. I felt like I didn’t know how to be without the children there and I honestly couldn’t see a way out! But then I started working for the amazing Lingua Lessons. Just a few hours at first, but slowly but surely I started to build my confidence back.

Did I have imposter syndrome when I started out? Pretty much every time I chatted to a potential client!

Do I still get imposter syndrome? Yes, regularly!

But when I look back at myself in 2018 when I launched Jo Shea VA, to now. I am so pleased I pushed myself! I might not post as much on here as I used to, and I spend a lot of time talking about Mini & Mighty but I am truly thankful for all the wonderful people I have met, things I have experienced and done since taking the plunge and starting my own business!

People like Michelle Farrell Online Business Management who was my first ever associate and who is just absolutely smashing it with her business now! I even went on a workshop she put on this week! I felt so grateful that I got to work with her as she started out!

Helen Harris and who are my current associates! I literally couldn’t keep my business running without you! Thank you for all you do! Especially when I have been so forgetful at times!

To all the clients I have had over the years! Far too many to mention! However long or short we worked together (or if we still work together!) you have been a really important part of my business journey and I’m so grateful! I’d particularly like to mention Tania Taylor Hypnotherapy & Psychotherapy, the client who really changed my business and taught me so much! Jolly Accountancy Services Limited my longest serving client (apart from Lingua Lessons) and my accountant! I would be nowhere without you!

Lastly to Rachel Killoran VA my VA bestie who is also smashing it and is far and beyond where I was, almost a year into her business!

Wow! 6 years and here’s to many many more 🥂

So proud of this lady Rachel Killoran VA and Laura Shufflebotham Smith Taylor Associates 🖤💚

Today I led the Rossendale Networking Ninjas meeting in the absence of our leader, my friend, and now my client Laura of Smith Taylor Associates .
Just 9 months ago I walked through the doors for my first Networking Ninjas meeting with Jo Shea VA. I had no job, no business to speak of and had been through the worst personal circumstances I'd ever experienced. I felt like a fraud but figured I had nothing to lose, I would go once to support Jo and probably never go back. I was honest with the room about my dream of being a VA and I was welcomed with no judgement and plenty of encouragement!
Here I am now, having signed my 5th regular client, one more for some adhoc work, another in the pipeline for the Autumn AND I have had to turn someone away due to being at capacity!!
My faith is no secret, and when I found myself unemployed last summer I handed it all to God and trusted He could turn it around. How true that was and I am grateful beyond words. I am now doing the job I dreamed of at 18! Timing is everything and sometimes there's a process of undoing before we can be what we're meant to, part of a bigger picture and for a greater purpose than just us. 💚

She is so passionate about helping other businesses thrive and it comes across in everything she does.

Today I want to say a huge, huge thank you to these two ladies! Throughout a very tough year, and even moreso over the past 4 months as I’ve taken more of an active role within the business I run with my husband these two ladies have been my associates. They have taken on some of my client work to free me up. I love being a VA and when the opportunity to take more on with our other business came up I was torn, but these 2 ladies have made it possible for me to keep my business whilst doing more for Mini&Mighty. There’s something to be said about the absolute comradery and support within the VA world. Everyone is out to help everyone else, and these ladies have been so patient with me on the weeks when my mental health has taken dip, when my husband was in hospital, and just generally as I navigate this new stage in my business and my life and have become much more scatty than I would like to be! Thank you and .va / for all your support! I am truly thankful for you 🩷 and if you’ve got this far, a big thank you to all my followers and my clients! I am finishing today until 2024. Wishing you all a merry Christmas and a happy new year 🩷

Today is the second full day I have worked in our new office! As most of you will know, as well as being a creative VA, I also spend a lot of time working with my husband on our coffee business We have just moved out of our home office and into some lovely premises in Haslingden. There’s still lots to do but the desks are set up and functional which is the main thing at the moment! It’s very exciting! And as you can see, there’s still all the pink!!

Almost at the end of the month. This September I have handed over certain parts of my client work to my wonderful associates and It’s harder than you think letting go but it’s gone well thus far 🩷 This means I’ve been able to spend more time supporting We’ve moved our office temporarily into the conservatory, our eldest has started high school. I’ve continued my exercise plan which I started in the school holidays, and have now lost 7 pounds! There are even greater things to come! Just keep on believing! The same will happen for you! 🩷
