A fun look at some of the stuff we did this week in our GLP academy. The German Longhaired Pointer belongs in The Hunt Point Retrieve group. In spite of there being only 200- 250 GLPs in the UK they take a significant amount of Field Trial awards. The question to you, is this because of the qualities of the breed or the people that trial them………….?
My view…the breed is wonderful, loves hunting, good game finding and a strong desire to retrieve, that’s what I think about the handlers, and you guessed we could equally be talking about the dogs. If you wish to succeed in dog sport you will need first class breeding and an owner/ handler that is highly motivated, one that has the knowledge and skills to be able to build a successful partnership. True to all dog/ human partnerships. Enjoy your dogs. ❤️

We finally got around to starting our Retriever Academy this weekend. Just brilliant watching these dogs developing.
