And we are done!!

38 x DMEGC all black panels installed using a GSE in-roof system for a brand new children’s home in Bedfont, Feltham.

A solid 3 day push on this one with a sighting of a baby urban fox and some sunburn thrown in for good measure.

Big shoutout to Lewis at Hybrid Electrical & Renewables for trusting me with the install and going above and beyond throughout. Super knowledgeable and absolute pleasure to work alongside.

Projects like this are always a good reminder that it’s not just houses benefiting from solar anymore. Great to see renewable energy being worked into facilities that’ll genuinely support the local community.

Been a minute since my last post… mainly been focused on new builds installing in-roof systems (not exactly the most exciting for drone footage 😂)

Something a little different today.
We installed two panels on this beach hut down in Calshot, set up to charge a leisure battery.

Nice little change from the usual rooftops and not a bad view either.

Another reminder why quality installation matters

Visited a property in Selsey today to rectify a poorly installed Viridian in-roof solar system and honestly, what I found was shocking.

❌ Flashings incorrectly installed
❌ Flashings incorrectly positioned
❌ Resulting in severe water ingress and internal damage to the homeowner’s property

This wasn’t a small snag, this was a fundamental install failure.

✅ All flashings have now been removed and replaced correctly.
✅ System is now properly weathered and fully watertight
✅ Homeowner can finally have peace of mind

In-roof systems look great when done right… but when they’re done wrong, the consequences can be costly.

Wet one in Totton yesterday!

I got absolutely soaked getting these 16 panels installed. The customer is having another 14 panels fitted this week, so once it’s all done they’ll have 30 x AIKO 470W panels up there all hooked up to a Tesla Powerwall, it’s going to be a proper beast of a system.

Fun fact from the job, the white carp in their pond is over 30 years old. Didn’t even know fish lived that long!

Back at RAF St Mawgan in Newquay today.

Last time I was here, I was the Battery Sergeant Major bringing soldiers down for Adventure Training.
Fast forward six years and I’m back… 40ft in the air, strapped to a crane, fixing a solar install that decided it no longer fancied taking part in the harsh West Coast winds.

Isn’t it funny how life goes? One minute you’re Battery leading… the next you’re roof leading 👀.

Still, job done, flashing kit repaired, and I stayed on the roof exactly the right amount of time, no longer than needed. No soldier likes to be around the RAF too long 😉😂.

And that’s a wrap!

I was brought in at the beginning of the week to support the SopocoSolar team, and as always their design and planning were absolutely spot on. One of the best in the business and a great team to work alongside.

We installed a total of 92 Canadian Solar 455W panels on this care home in Bracknell, totalling 41.9 kWp of clean energy, all mounted on a K2 S-Dome.

Another big project ticked off, on to the next one ☀️ 🔋

2 and a half days of proper graft to get these 5 plots installed for Captiva Homes Limited on the IOW.

🔹 33 × 405W Viridian in-roof panels
🔹 330 fixings
🔹 648 screws
🔹 One man getting it done

Started off with a few days of glorious sunshine on the roof… finished off by wringing my socks out and questioning whether skin is actually waterproof 🤷🏻‍♂️.
Still, the end result looks mega. Really happy with how tidy these installs came out.

On to the next job 👊☀️

Octobers almost done and dusted!

It’s been a solid month keeping busy on some great projects 👇

✅ Continued installs over on the Isle of Wight using Viridian Solar panels, can’t beat that clean roofline (and even caught a rainbow on-site).

✅ Started a new contract with Photon Energy Limited, working for Bellway at Kingsmere Park, West Parley. Really pleased to be trusted with this one. More new-build homes going solar.

✅ A really interesting job at Pattern Church, working alongside Sopoco Solar installing 90 panels. The building used to be the old Great Western Railway Pattern Store and is now a converted church, some real beautiful architecture in there. Slide included.

✅ And to top it off, we replaced the family car and have gone electric. Clean energy on the roof and on the road.

Next week I’ve got two more installs lined up before taking some time off for half term with the kids, bit of family time before getting back to it in November.

I appreciate everyone who’s been involved and supported this month.

Here are a couple of installs I wrapped up before heading out the country for some quality family time.

I’m particularly proud of the 28-panel install on the outhouse roof in Soberton for Greener Future Ltd. A tricky one, but it turned out spot on. Clean lines, solid output, and another happy customer.
