Being a VA isn’t just about doing tasks.

It’s holding timelines, knowing the chain of events that needs to happen, when and in what order, before anyone has to ask.

What you see is the client interface, the content going out on time, the signposting, newsletters landing in inboxes, posts scheduled and live.

What you don’t see is everything that had to happen first.

The request that goes out at the right moment, the deadlines that build in enough buffer, the assets that need chasing, the inputs that need collating. The draft, the review, the tweak, the fix, the schedule.

And when something doesn’t go to plan (because, that’s life sometimes), the calm, quiet problem-solving that means you never even knew there was one.

None of that is visible and that’s precisely the point.

Two clients recently said the same thing. They had seen a video I posted that said exactly what they’d been thinking.

That’s the thing about finding the right support. You just know.

They were looking for someone who already gets it, who thinks ahead.

Who sees and does the five things that need to happen to make the one thing you just told them actually happen.

That’s not something I learned from a course, it’s 20+ years of being in the room where decisions get made, understanding how businesses actually work, not just the visible bit but everything running behind the scenes.

AI will give you an answer every time. It won’t tell you when that answer is wrong.

Last week it gave me several things that were factually incorrect. If I didn’t have the knowledge, experience and judgement to challenge it, they could have gone straight out to a client’s audience.

AI can write your content but that’s not the whole thing. It can’t think for your business, it doesn’t know your strategy, your tone of voice, your goals, or your audience.

When I work with clients on their content I get all of that info up front, which then saves time all round and gives a higher level of service.

I use AI every day but I also bring 20+ years of experience, a strategic business owner brain and judgement. That means I can tell when something isn’t right and fix it before it does damage.

Systems and tools aren’t the problem. Knowing how to use them properly is.
