👕 Get them September-ready with this two-step seasonal wardrobe reset ✨🩱

The kids are heading back to school, and we’re putting our homes and routines back together whilst navigating the mixed household emotions that roll in with September ✏️🍂 (Anyone gazing wistfully at a t-shirt stained with chocolate ice cream memories AND rejoicing over their work diary? It’s a complex time! 👀)

This simple, feel-good edit will whip their wardrobe into shape with minimal effort — and no lingering Vinted piles! September is a lot. We don’t need those in our life right now ✋

So here it is. Grab two boxes:

📦 Label box one: ‘NEXT SEASON’

Anything they won’t be wearing for the next few months goes straight in here.

Think summer dresses, shorts and swimwear. Could we have a freak autumn heatwave? Sure! But chances are the bulk of the peak summer wear can be tucked into this box to free up wardrobe space for high-rotation everyday clothes.

When next summer arrives, pull out the box, have a quick try-on and anything that still fits goes straight back into circulation. ☀️

Anything that doesn’t? THAT’S the time to sell. Make light work of it by listing things together as seasonal summer bundles, just as people are looking to buy them. 🙌

📦 Label box two: ‘NEXT SIZE UP’

This is for those clothes you bought in the sale because “they’ll grow into it”, the sibling hand-me-downs and the uniform passed on from a friend a couple of school years ahead.

In they go! Then, when you next realise all their jeans are hovering three inches above their ankles… ✨ shop this box first! ✨ 👖

And that’s it 🙌

Two boxes. Two decisions. A wardrobe full of clothes that actually fit and can be worn right now. ✅

Do this mini reset at the end of each season and keeping on top of their wardrobe suddenly gets a whole lot easier.

📚 Time to deal with the end-of-term paper pile-up! 💪

If, like me, you’ve inherited a stack of exercise books, a bag of glittery art projects and 45 pieces of paper that appear to have come from the TARDIS of classroom drawers… what do you do with it all? 📚🎨

Perhaps also like me, you’re constantly walking a fine line between:

🥹 “Time is moving too fast! Keep every precious scribble to preserve the memory of this year!”

and…

👀 “Is this hidden deep enough in the recycling bin?”

My key takeaways on this one…

✨ Make it fun

Turn this to-do list item into a summer holiday activity for the next time the “I’m booooored” strikes. Make yourself a cup of tea and enjoy a few peaceful moments (sitting down!) while they proudly show you their stories, squiggles and finest illustration of their mythical pet.

📚 Keep only what makes you feel something good

Let’s be honest, in five years’ time you’re probably not going to find much joy in looking back at sheets of maths homework.

As you’re going through, notice anything that particularly makes you smile or laugh. If you think it’s something you’d both genuinely love to look back on one day, tear out that page.

As a recent example, our youngest’s repeated incorrect spelling of Norfolk in a story has been saved for future comedy gold. 🤭

🗂️ Give the gems a home

Set up a keepsake box like the one pictured and add a section divider for each school year.

Slot your favourite pages in.

♻️ Recycle the rest guilt-free, knowing you’ve saved the best and absolutely did not need to hold onto 23 handwritten facts about the Great Fire of London! 🔥

📆💕 Revisit the memory box every now and again and keep editing. The chances are you won’t remember why you kept 12 pieces of paper one year, but 3 will absolutely make your heart smile every time you hold them 😊

☀️ THE ORGANISED SUMMER SURVIVAL SERIES HAS ARRIVED! ✨

For the next few weeks, I’m sharing quick and simple organising tips to help make summer life feel that little bit more manageable where it counts 🌅🏡

Our lawns are beige, our fans are working overtime and our flip flops, sandals and Crocs are multiplying in some sort of hallway breeding programme.

And so, quite literally kicking off the series…

The Summer Shoe Invasion 🩴

Let’s keep this simple.

🧺 Grab a basket. Any basket.
🚪 Place it by the door.
☀️ Let it live there for the summer.
😌 Be at peace with this being a temporary solution.

❌ No flip flop obstacle course at the bottom of the stairs.
❌ No reorganising shoe cabinets to fit more in.
❌ No relocating boots and trainers
❌ No trying to make space by selling out-of-season shoes on Vinted. (Spoiler alert - no one is buying our Uggs in 32 degrees.)

One basket. Throw them all in. Walk away.

Let everyone dig their own pairs out when they need them.

That’s it 🙌 Sometimes the best solutions really are the easy ones.

And in September-land, we’ll do a hard edit on which shoes have (truly) survived the summer months and THEN we’ll talk about where we’re storing our shoes.

Enjoy ticking this quick win off your mental load and go and celebrate with an icy drink!

Cluttered to calm… in just 2 sessions ✨

This kitchen had been a constant source of overwhelm for my lovely client, who juggled work commitments and a busy family life with young children.

Cluttered corners and worktops.
Piles of family things with nowhere to land.
That constant low-level stress of never quite feeling on top of it.

In just two sessions, we transformed the kitchen into a clutter-free, calm space where everything is easy to find and simple to put away 😌

The real magic of this project was bringing to light the ways that my client really wanted to spend her precious free time, and so we transformed the kitchen into a space that prioritised:

🍪 Baking with her children
📚 Leafing through favourite cookbooks that had once gathered dust (now proudly on display on a beautiful, clutter-free dresser)
🍽️ Hosting friends and family for dinner without feeling bad about her home

We decluttered first, created simple, useable zones, and gave everything a proper home. No micro-organisation, just thoughtful systems that make everyday life easier and create more room for the things that really matter 💛

It leaves with me. 📦✨

No more bin bags becoming permanent fixtures by the door.

No more ‘I’ll sell those tomorrow’ clothing piles gathering dust in the corner.

No more clutter planting roots in the kitchen island while you debate, week after week, when, how and where to recycle, donate or repurpose.

From our very first session together, your unwanted items leave with me — so that you (and your space) feel instantly lighter 💛✨

And the best part? Every item is donated or recycled responsibly, or sold on your behalf through my pre-loved service. More space, less guilt, and a little extra cash for you.

Deck the halls with… only the things you truly love! ✨

Many of us will be sprinkling festive magic around our homes this weekend (if you cracked into Christmas in early November, you may now stand down and read this retrospective advice in the smug glow of your fairy lights, whilst wiggling your festive socks 🧦🎄).

As you — or someone you sweetly nominate — heave the boxes out of the garage, now is the perfect time for a quick spot-check of your Christmas decs. The beauty of this? You can do it as you unpack, favourite festive tipple in hand 🍹☕️🍷

No big overhaul, no pressure — just a little mindful editing as you go.

Here’s what we’re looking to retire:

📦 Lights that only work when Mercury is in retrograde

📦 Broken or sad-looking ornaments (that “partridge in a pear tree” now giving more “pigeon with a past”)

📦 Decorations you don’t actually like anymore — even those rustic log slices from the Christmas market that you really tried to love

📦 Impulse buys from the January sales, back when you were fully committed to “Magenta Christmas 2025”… and now? Maybe not

The goal: a home filled only with decorations that genuinely make you smile. Everything else? Donate it to brighten someone else’s sparkly season 🌟
(or gently retire it to the bin of Christmas past).

Happy decorating! Here’s to a season filled with joy — and just a little less clutter 🔔 🎁 🕯️
