The Australian wool market found solid support this week, recovering from last week’s losses. Prices rose across both selling days at all three selling centres, with most micron categories recording gains. ​

The EMI finished 12 cents higher at 1,677, while the WMI, over its single selling day, lifted by 19 cents to 1,878.

After a run of weekly gains, the Australian wool market eased this week. Importantly, while prices fell in Australian dollar terms, USD-based prices continued to strengthen, indicating that the softer AUD EMI outcome was currency-driven rather than the result of weakening offshore demand.

The EMI fell by 24 ac/kg to close at 1,665 ac/kg. The WMI followed this trend, easing by 19 ac/kg to finish at 1,859 ac/kg.

☀️☀️Get set for a scorcher 🥵🥵

We know for many, checking water and feeding livestock is already taking up a large portion of your days.

Unfortunately, the week ahead isn't going to give any reprieve with temperatures predicted in the mid 40's for some.

It is very easy to underestimate the increase in water consumption (for sheep, this can increase by a whopping 80%) that our livestock require and how difficult it is for them to stay cool.

💧Water ➡️ Do they have access to clean and cool water? Consider faster consumption, higher evaporation rates dam edges might get muddy. Check out the photos attached in PDF on Stock Water in the link in the comments. 👇
🌳Shade ➡️ Ensure your stock have access to shade to help avoid the hottest parts of the day. Hopefully, they do not have to travel too far between the shade and water.
