With more and more people diagnosing faults on ChatGPT or YouTube just please…if they tell you to remove the case of the boiler DON’T!!! On a lot of condensing boilers now the case forms a room seal and removing it can affect combustion 😊 🔥 🔧

A tip for anyone struggling with boiler issues in this weather.

Like most gas engineers I’ve been inundated with calls this week with ignition faults. Every one of them has been the condensate pipe frozen so if you’re having issues since the cold weather and you have a white pipe off the bottom of the boiler (picture below for guide) check if it goes outside. If it does, put a kettle on (NOT boiling, just hot) and pour it over the pipe a few times, normally this will clear it.

Unfortunately running a business and going to see people costs me money so I have to charge for call outs, but I don’t want people paying for call out fees if it’s something they may be able to fix themselves as times are hard enough for everyone right now!
