Comfort food...it gets you through the wet and wild dark days!

After sitting at my desk all day, I needed something warm and home cooked.

This year we've had this one for comfort food more often than we should and now I think we're getting quite good at the home made pizza.

Have I always been a bit techie?

Maybe..at least I've been interested in PCs and learning tech stuff since we got our first one when I was 15.

I remember hooking it up and getting it going and joining the chat rooms of the millennium.

I still love fiddling around making websites and funnels and solving little issues.

But I'm not a computer tech or IT genius.

I know enough to be able to upgrade the ram in my son's pc, help him clean it out, I'm confident with moving and unplugging bits to get to the ones underneath.

But today after we cleaned it out...all it did was a flat line bleep.

We looked at each other...what had we done???

Turned out I had put the ram in backwards 🤣

But at least I mostly know what my 15 year old is talking about when we are discussing PCs.

What's your favourite thing about having your own business/working for yourself?

For me, it's working around my other commitments and needs. Like being able to take a day out today to do some Christmas shopping allowing some quiet time for lunch too!

Being able to work when I want to and still get things done for my clients is the best part for me.

If you haven't already, you need to automate your appointment booking.

If you’re still manually scheduling calls, you’re losing hours every week.

You could use Calendly (or another scheduling tool like Google Workspace- you know I love Google!) to let clients pick from your available times.

It auto-sends confirmations & reminders (to you too, you're busy, you might forget!)

Sync with your Google or Outlook calendar - and with Todoist, if you set that up.

Set it up once, and never ‘What time works for you?’ again!

A different view today...seals for miles!

The holidays can be a juggle when you're a working mum, today, instead of sitting at the desk we went for a very chilly walk a way down the coast to see the grey seals.

It's these moments, this ability to juggle to spend time with my family that led to me starting my business.

Often it's forgotten though, because running a small business can mean working more hours than you did before...even if the aim was to work less.
