While the awards might look at the "Upper" end, we know the magic of the Ormeau Road doesn't stop at the bridge—it flows right through every street, every shopfront, and every doorstep in the Lower Ormeau too. 🌉✨

​It’s the sense of community that makes this area truly world-class. It’s the neighbours who look out for one another, the local businesses that know your name, and that unique "Ormeau energy" that ties us all together and makes us the gateway from the city centre right up to the beautiful Ormeau Park. 🌳❤️

​A huge thank you to the talented (and mysterious!) artist behind this beautiful new postbox topper. We are always delighted to see more vibrant artwork popping up in our neighborhood—it truly brightens up the daily walk.

​Beyond the incredible crochet work, this piece carries a vital message. It features the Nexus NI helpline, providing support for those affected by domestic or sexual abuse. It’s wonderful to see local art used to highlight such an important cause.

Take a look at this amazing shop front makeover! ➡️ Swipe to see the before and after of this previously unloved derelict space.

We've installed new signage, pointing you to our Instagram and Facebook, and given the shutters a fresh coat of paint.

While the building itself isn't currently suitable for use and won't be available for rent, we hope this little transformation brings a smile to your day ans brightens the area! 😊

💔 We're so disappointed to hear that our local St. Vincent de Paul shop is closing its doors after over 40 incredible years of service to our community. 😥

This shop has been a cornerstone of the Lower Ormeau, offering affordable goods, supporting those in need, and fostering a spirit of generosity for decades. It's truly a great loss for both residents and local businesses alike.

Thank you, St. Vincent de Paul, for your immense contribution to our road and our community over all these years. We will be so sorry to see you go. ❤️

These lampposts were a unique feature the lower Ormeau Road and added to the roads character.

Disappointing to see them removed and replaced with generic ones.

What's your thoughts?

I'm in disbelief that the Department for Infrastructure plans to rip out the ornate street lamps on the lower Ormeau Road – the ones that carry the hanging baskets during the summer – to replace them with "unpainted galvanised columns". These complement the character of the area but are being scrapped with zero consultation.
