A prominent Royal Brinkman employee in the United Kingdom is under investigation on suspicion of online offenses with a minor. Royal Brinkman takes this situation very seriously. Regarding this subject we have a zero tolerance policy.

End of employment
Although the police investigation is ongoing and no one has yet been charged, as far as we are concerned, an unworkable situation has arisen that cannot be rectified. This has led to an ending of the employment on 31 March 2023.

Wilco Westerman, head of technical services: “The DryGair units treat the greenhouse air during cultivation, without the need for outside air. All the energy remains in the glasshouse so we do not lose any heat. This efficient way of dehumidifying the air results in an energy saving of 40% on our gas consumption.”

The Unimite Soft Fruit has been specially developed for the deployment of biological crop protection for soft fruit cultivation. In this crop you often grow in rows and under plastic tunnels. 🍓 🫐

Because we customize the machine, the Unimite Soft Fruit can be used in 4, 5 or 6 rows of tunnels. This makes the Unimite Soft Fruit multifunctional.

The Unimite Soft Fruit is controlled by the tractor to which the machine is attached. This makes the machine drivable by 1 person who sprinkles approximately 2ha per hour. The material used to be spread by hand, by several people, while walking in the tunnels. By using the machine you get a much more even distribution of your material in the crop, a very large labor savings and ultimately better results from your efforts.

How it works:
The material is deposited in the storage bunker where a gently rotating mixer ensures that the material does not block. A blower at the bottom of the bunker ensures that the material is blown through the hoses into the crop. With the control box mounted in the tractor, the driver can accurately determine the release of the material by turning the blower harder/slower.

How to combat powdery mildew on strawberries 🍓 |

Powdery mildew Podosphaera aphanis on strawberries, also known as strawberry powdery mildew, can cause extensive economic damage. Possible yield losses depend on the severity of infestation and the time of infestation of the powdery mildew fungi.

Jan-Paul de Wit knows how to combat powdery mildew on strawberries: “
- Several fungicide treatments should be carried out as soon as the infestation begins. You should consistently emphasize a change of active ingredient to prevent the development of resistance.
- Hygiene is of great importance.
- Clear harvested areas as quickly as possible. Rapid removal of infested plant parts reduces the number of spores that can overwinter in the strawberry rhizomes.
- Condensation moisture on plants promotes powdery mildew infestation. Therefore, heat crops in greenhouses early in the morning to reduce humidity.”
