I get stopped at least twice a day and get asked about the Mia, so heres a few details in case your interested.

The Mia is a fully electric micro van. Charged through a standard house socket it has a range of 70 miles in eco mode or around 50 miles in sport mode. Built in 2013 the same year the production company went bust. Only 8 of the van version were sold in the Uk, we dont know of any other van versions that still exist in this country. With a top speed of 64 mph the Mia is perfect for Wirral deliveries. 123 of the passenger vehicles were sold in the Uk, one of which recently made a 45 minute episode on Carwow. In that programme they go on to talk extensively about the difficulty in finding parts, this has happened to Dave Murphy the keeper and owner of Automotive Accident Assist who sponsor the vehicle. Through his sponsorship we can continue to be a minimum of 20% more affordable than any other national courier delivering within the Wirral peninsula. And most imporrantly it allows us to be a "net zero" mail and parcel courier. What this also allows Local Postal Solutions to do is raise money for charity every year. We will be making a big announcement at the end of September and we want everyone on the Wirral to get involved.

This is what a Saturday delivery often looks like. Wherever we have parcels, we make sure its not all work, work, work. Balancing time between family and work is always tricky. On a Saturday the working day is made longer by fitting in some down time in between. Today a delivery on Stanley Road in Hoylake has led us to an hour at Red Rocks. I promised H lots of rocks to climb but its kind of turned into Red "sand covered" rocks so its fill your shoes with sand hour.

The Return of the Legend: The MiAAA is Back on the Road! ⚡️🚐
​They say you don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone. But when your daily driver is a 2013 Mia electric van, "gone" usually means it’s waiting for a spare part that hasn't been manufactured since the company went bust over a decade ago.
​After a stint in the clinic, our beloved MiAAA (so named because she’s powered by the vision of Automotive Accident Assist) is finally back. To say she’s a "rare breed" is an understatement—only 123 of this version exist globally, and only 8 were ever sold in the UK. Driving her isn't just a commute; it’s a preservation project.
​What did I miss while she was away?
​Honestly? I missed the thrill of the gamble. You haven't lived until you’ve faced the MiAAA starting sequence. It requires:
​A specific turn of the key.
​A prayer to the gods of early 2010s French engineering.
​The literal alignment of the planets in the solar system. 🪐
​I also missed:
​The "Luxury" Ride: It has the structural integrity of a biscuit tin and the suspension of a shopping trolley. Every pebble on the Wirral feels like a speed bump.
​The Arctic Experience: In winter, the heater is more of a "suggestion" than a feature. I’ve learned that shivering actually burns calories, so... fitness? 🥶
​The Silent Treatment: I never turn the radio on. Why? Because every bar of Taylor Swift is a mile of range I might need to get home. 🎶
​So, why do we love her?
​Because despite the fact that sourcing parts feels like an episode of Indiana Jones, the MiAAA is pure magic.
​My work often goes "on pause" mid-delivery because someone invariably stops me to ask, "What on earth is that?!" She brings a smile to every face she passes. Her compact size makes her the undisputed queen of narrow Wirral roads, and she's as safe as she is sustainable.
​The Bigger Picture 🌍
​At Local Postal Solutions and with the priceless help of Automotive Accident Assist we aren't just driving a quirky van; we’re trying to shape the future of delivery for our children and grandchildren.

The view from the office today... 🌳🚗

​I took this photo while out on my rounds today, and it reminded me why we do what we do at Local Postal Solutions.
