Lemme share with you a quick story of what happened to David (one of our clients)

The job was a complete yard remodel, so David did the estimate and sent the quote (it was roughly $70,000).

When David did the follow-up in order to close the deal, the homeowner just replied “I don’t wanna work with people like you”.

Can you guess what the reason was..?

Yes, the homeowner checked all his social media profiles and David’s profile was an ancient Greek tragedy.

Pictures from parties, drunk friends, and other crazy stuff…

The moral of the story is: optimize your social media profiles!

What’s up fellow landscapers this is Nick from Landscaping Business Hypergrowth and in this video I will talk about in what order, what should be your first hire in order to hit 6 figures.

First things first in order to grow, you want a constant inflow of leads on a predictable basis, so you know that you are getting those appointments each and every week. This can be done either by learning how to market yourself or hire someone else do it for you, so you eliminate the guesswork and accelerate the process.

Next hire, should be definitely somebody to help you do all the work. You want to hire a part time employee then work them up to full time, get them on a payroll, get them going somebody who will be knocking out the jobs with you.

Once you get swamped with work, then you want to bring someone else. Again, you want to hire a part time employee and work them up to full time. The best way to do it is to hire someone, who has leadership initiative, somebody, who can take charge of their job. They can drive a truck, you can leave them and go get materials and do quotes or even break apart if you are really busy and they can handle it.

The next step is office support. The most important thing is an admin support, because you already have production support, so you now need administration, which is handling the phones and the paperwork. What I would go for here is a virtual receptionist, because they are highly trained and they make sure that they are in an environment where’s no background noise, which turns the customers off.

Then you need to raise your prices and you achieve that by becoming good in marketing and advertising and learning how to position yourself as an expert.

Last step is who’s gonna be doing your sales. This is the most crucial sector of your business, because when things get bad, sales are the ones that solve all problems my friends. You’ll need to increase your selling skills, when you show up on a quote, you are showing up to get a signature and a deposit check.

So this is the whole puzzle and obviously if you need to grow beyond hundred k you’ll need to do more tweaks but this is a topic for another video. That will be all for today lads, let me know in the comment section your thoughts and I will speak to you soon!

What I've learned about qualifying customers over the phone 📞in a small scale Landscaping business

What’s up fellow landscapers this is Nick from landscaping business hypergrowth and in this video I wanna talk about a phenomenon that I am hearing all the time.

The situation is the following: the homeowner rings you, and asks you for a quote and you want work, you need money so sure I’ll be right there and now either that day or a different day you’ll schedule and drive out across town to walk a property with a customer.

You visited them, you spent two hours consulting with them and you said: “is that in the ballpark John? We’re talking about eight thousand pounds for the whole job, what do you think?” And John goes: “whoa whoa eight thousand pounds, I thought I was gonna get all this stuff done for two thousand pounds, I’ve got to check with my wife”

Unfortunately, it ends up that you don’t even get the job and despite the fact you had that subtle feeling the whole time that this wasn’t the job for you anyways and but still you did it. So all this time, gas and energy goes down the drain.

Your go-to here is that you need to qualify them on the phone, BEFORE you do the on-site visit, you need to start asking questions about the property, ask them to send you pictures, go to google maps, you look at the house, you really get down and you’re trying to find what this person’s intentions are.

How far are they out in the buying process. Are they cold prospects? Are they warm prospects or are they hot prospects ready to buy?

A hot prospect is that they want to buy yesterday because it’s an emergency. A warm prospect is that they looked at some stuff online and now they’re open, so you’re looking for warm and hot prospects. Cold leads are those who think they need something done and they will get a price on, and they’re not even ready and they’re just price shopping and trying to get an idea, before they can even get down the line to even make a decision.

Your philosophy should be: “I’m not coming out there and sitting in traffic unless we’ve talked about it over the phone and I know that you are serious to proceed”

And that is a small fraction of our program. Once we sign you up, we give you scripts with questions that you use before every on-site visit, so now you are sure that the person is worth visiting too and he’s not gonna waste your time.

What’s up fellow landscapers this is Nick from Landscaping Business Hypergrowth and in this video I’m gonna talk about facing the brutal realities of every situation regarding taking care of your clients.

When you are walking a property with a client to sell them a job to turn them into a client it’s very important that you cross every T and dot every I right then and there.

If there’s any little tiny thing that you foresee might be a problem or an issue, it’s important to cover that right and then. You need to to be like “stop, I foresee that this might be an issue so it might cost a little extra bit to do this we gonna have to dig underneath right here, we’re gonna have to get those roots out etcetera. etcetera. because I’ve done these many times and if we don’t do that this will turn out to be a problem”

You need to cross every T even if it keeps raising the stakes on the customers and thinking you might not get the job because now it’s raising the price and it’s going outside of what the customer’s expectations were initially.

Maybe they thought that this costs 5000 pounds and you go there and educate them and now your bill is gonna be eight grand. Well, the truth of the matter is if you know what you are doing, you are doing the customer a disservice by selling them something for 5000, because now you can’t even complete the job. You’re gonna be running around like a chicken with your head cut off, you’re gonna be feeling like you’re being forced to cut corners, you’re gonna feel rushed and it’s gonna be a painful experience for you and possibly your customers too.

So the cold hard brutal reality is even if you think that this will disqualify you or them, so be it because the truth is the truth, and the truth shall set you free.
