Your CV might be the reason you’re not getting that Data Analyst interview.

You can have great Excel, SQL, Python, Power BI or Tableau skills but if your CV doesn’t communicate your value clearly, recruiters may never get to see what you can do.

Some common mistakes Data Analysts make include:

❌ Listing tools without showing how they were used
❌ Writing responsibilities instead of measurable achievements
❌ Using the same generic CV for every application
❌ Having no portfolio or project links
❌ Overloading the CV with unnecessary information
❌ Using too much technical jargon without business impact
❌ Not highlighting relevant projects and results

Don’t just tell recruiters what you know. Show them what you can do.

Your CV should answer one important question:

“Why should we interview this candidate?”

Build projects. Quantify your impact. Tailor your CV. Make your skills visible.

If I had to learn data analytics from zero in 2026, I would NOT do it the way most people are told to.

Six months of Excel tutorials before touching SQL. Twelve certificates and zero real projects. A resume full of tools and no story behind any of them.

That path is broken. Here’s the one I’d actually take:

→ Learn Excel + SQL together, not one after the other
→ Use AI to understand the “why,” not just get the answer
→ Trade certificates for one messy, real dataset
→ Build 3 strong projects instead of 10 forgettable ones
→ Go deep in one industry instead of sounding generic

Tools will keep changing. Curiosity won’t.

💬 Which step are you skipping right now? Tell me below.
🔖 Save this — you’ll want it when you actually start.
🔁 Share it with someone stuck in tutorial hell.

A great Tableau dashboard should do more than display data, it should help users explore it.

With Dashboard Actions in Tableau, you can turn static dashboards into interactive experiences using Filter, Highlight, URL, Go to Sheet, Set, and Parameter Actions. Instead of simply looking at charts, users can click, explore, compare, discover patterns, and make better decisions.

💡 Data Tip: Don’t just build dashboards that show information. Build dashboards that help people ask questions and find answers.
