Positivity spreads because of a phenomenon called "emotional contagion," where people subconsciously mimic the emotions and behaviours of those around them.

When someone exhibits positive emotions—such as happiness, enthusiasm, or kindness—others naturally pick up on these cues and mirror them. This can create a ripple effect, where positivity influences others, who then spread it further.

Positive behaviours and attitudes foster better social interactions, making people feel more connected and supported. This encourages more positive exchanges, boosting overall group morale and well-being.

The brain's mirror neurons, which activate when observing someone else’s emotions, also contribute to this effect by making it easier for us to empathize and share in others' emotional states, leading to a cycle of positivity.

Furthermore, positive environments reduce stress, increase cooperation, and enhance problem-solving abilities, reinforcing the desire to sustain and spread such behaviours.
