What a busy couple of days up at BETA International. Spent a lot of time talking to people, looking at product and sitting in on seminars. Loved it. I have 3 favourite products/ businesses I was fortunate to spend time with talking about their brilliant products.
Tom and his wife at Pioneer Hoof Protection Tom is a farrier and has produced a unique brilliant hoof boot which I absolutely loved and would 100% buy which is a tall order for me to consider changing from Panni’s current boots, (need to save some pennies though as not that long ago replaced Panni’s current boots) Tom also showcased his new product called the Helix which is a brilliantly thought out medical boot, miles apart from what’s out there currently, he’s looking at launching the Helix around December. (And yes I’ll be ordering one)
Belle at SealStop LTD SealStop Automatic Hose Stop Valve, stops water flow the moment your bucket or watering can reaches capacity. A must and have one on the way which I will probably do an unbox and user review ( which is something I’ve never done) as I think it’s so blooming clever.
HelmetConnect which is a removable Bluetooth headset that attaches very easily and quickly to your hat, it has a 90 meter range from your phone, so you could sit your phone on the arena side of you don’t want it in your pocket and still use the earpiece. You can use for training, listen to music, take a call and is Siri compatible. It doesn’t go in or on your ear so won’t fall off and you can still safely hear the outside world, so safe to hack with. - yes I bought one!

8.8miles walking around arenas training horses yesterday😂 definitely a record (and with a still healing broken toe) Met a new fella called Frank (the tank). What a handsome boy, Welsh warm blood, 5 years old and a lot of great attributes. We were working on some ground work and ground manners. He and his human made some great progress and are off doing their homework until I re visit. You got this guys 🙌

Buck and his human Michelle really worked hard again today. Driving and backing up through L poles like they have been doing it for weeks (threw it at them today) and then made the weave cones harder by moving them closer together, they both absolutely aced it 🙌. I couldn’t be prouder. (Michelle chose not to wear a hat)

Top tip for grazing muzzles. The small tubtrug is perfect to sit the muzzle in for a soak and scrub. 👌 dunk and swish or give it a little scrub if particularly mucky.

Remember Buck, he had a real anxiety about ground poles and ropes on the floor and round his legs and body. He has come a long way from bolting and panicking when things get too much, to now knowing how to self regulate and trusting his lovely human Michelle. He is now long lining calmly and even working with noisy building work going on high up right next to the arena. We introduced squish poles a couple of weeks ago and today I threw in some solid poles and some cones for good measure, he was AMAZING 😍. Michelle guided him through the cones today like a pro and so confident on the lines. (She chose not to wear a hat today). He is still getting used to the feeling of the lines through a roller with me, so that is something Michelle is now working on. They have both done so well and come on so far with their relationship with each other. Michelle has been amazing at doing her homework. So very proud of them both 🙌💫🌟 I had 5 months off from February as I had surgery and been back with them for a couple of months, the left video was last September and the right video today’s session. Michelle had been consistent with the homework I set while I was off which made getting to this stage in the last couple of months very smooth and calm. It’s been such a privilege to work with them and look forward to challenging them further!!

Why the yellow triangle?

Lymph is a colourless fluid, derived from the blood, that helps your horse fight infection. It has no pump of its own — it relies on muscle movement to circulate around the body, regulating, redistributing and adjusting fluid balance as it goes.

That's part of why the yellow triangle (below) is the most common site for intramuscular injections — medicine given here is filtered into the bloodstream via the lymph.
