Something's coming!

The culmination of one aspect of my 40 years in business, both in the corporate world and in my own businesses, is contained in my new book, The Business Growth Shortcut.

The 165 page book explains the options for businesses to grow. I guess I am in a fairly unique position in that I've spent millions on Marketing & Sales AND millions on buying businesses. The book explains why one route provides the short cut to explosive growth in your business - buying businesses to grow rather than the continual grind of sales and marketing.

The book explains our propriety framework called SKYROCKET which is a sequential guide from: strategy formation; defining target businesses; finding them; through the negotiation phases to completion and, most importantly, successful integration.

Following the process will give you a competitive edge as you understand why this strategy can work, providing you follow the SKYROCKET guidelines from the 50+ deals I have assessed.

For the most ambitious, the book also discusses the popular "buy, build & sell" strategy and why that is a route to your financial freedom, possibly decades earlier than you thought possible.

We're in the final stages of creating the sales funnel and the launch will be sometime in the next few weeks.

Are you the owner of a "one in 5.5 M" business?

That’s how many SMEs with less than 249 employees there are in the UK in 2024. The average GDP growth rate in real terms for the UK was 1.1%. and only 36% of SME reported turnover growth in 2024 (v 40% in 2023 and 46% in 2022). (All figures from ONS).

If you are a one in 5.5 M business, do these sentiments describe your business?

“My business is successful, it is profitable and growing, albeit very slowly! We spend loads with our marketing agency who constantly reinvent campaigns that bring in variable numbers of leads for our salespeople to convert. Our salespeople are broadly of two types: the good ones only stay a while and move to bigger companies, the poor ones, I have to move on! I haven’t done the calculation of the total investment in marketing and sales against the benefit we have gained – I’m too afraid to see the result. I know I must keep growing the top line as my costs are continually rising.

I can’t do this forever as it is a real grind to constantly manage this activity. I want to grow the business, eventually sell it and achieve financial freedom to meet my personal goals for my family. I wish there was an alternative”.

Welcome to all our new followers!

We are mid a re-purposing of Business Growth People, so at the moment the web URL is bought, but not populated, as is the email address, but please contact via messenger and we'll respond.

We'd love people to fill in the survey re Buying a Business as responding to that entitles the recipients to 10% off the courses when launched later in the month.

The format is not quite decided but basically:

- A deep dive into some of the subject areas - which is free to our registered followers
- Then the remainder of the course in a video format, which is chargeable
- A chance to participate in Workshops, which as 2 way communication is far more effective. There would be a charge for the ability to ask questions here, but far less than consultancy!
