Why Being an Apprentice at Guinness Associates Is the Best Job Ever
By Reece, Apprentice Executive Assistant
My name is Reece, and for the past two months I’ve been working with Dawn at Guinness Associates as her apprentice. Even though we’re a small team, the experience has been big in every sense full of learning, opportunity, and growth.
I’m currently completing a Level 3 Leadership and Management course, which is a nine-week bootcamp. After that, I’ll be moving on to a Level 5 Business Administration course, something I’m really looking forward to. The skills I’m developing through my studies (organisation, communication, and leadership) fit perfectly with my role and are helping me build confidence every day.
Working with Dawn as an Executive Assistant has opened doors to meet some fascinating people and get involved in a wide range of projects. No two days are ever the same, and I’ve learned so much about how a business operates behind the scenes.
One of the things that makes this apprenticeship so amazing is the way Dawn looks after her team. I earn £23,000 a year, and all my business expenses are covered, which means I can focus fully on learning and contributing without any added pressure. It’s rare to find an apprenticeship that offers such great support, responsibility, and trust from day one.
What I appreciate most is how supportive and encouraging Dawn has been. She’s given me the space to learn, ask questions, and grow even as I’m still finding my feet. It’s inspiring to have that kind of mentorship so early in my career, and it’s made a huge difference to my confidence and motivation.
Although I’ve only been part of Guinness Associates for a short time, it already feels like a place where I can really grow. I’m excited to see what the next few months bring as I continue learning and building my skills for the future.
