Whose stuff are you carrying around today?

Have you ever felt emotionally exhausted from trying to keep everyone happy, worrying about what others think, or feeling responsible for problems that aren’t yours to fix?

Sometimes, we carry emotional baggage for so long that we forget it’s even there. Past hurts, guilt, other people’s expectations and the need to make everything right can leave us feeling overwhelmed and drained.

But here’s a gentle reminder…
You can care without carrying.
You can support others without rescuing them.
You can say no without being selfish.
You can let go of the past without forgetting the lessons it taught you.

Learning to let go doesn’t mean you stop caring. It means making space for your own needs, peace of mind and emotional wellbeing, too.

My latest blog explores how to recognise the emotional baggage you may be carrying, set healthier boundaries and begin putting down the things that are no longer yours to hold.

Wellbeing without perfection

Your wellbeing routine shouldn't become another thing you're failing at.

You don't need:

A 5am wake-up.

A perfect morning routine.

10,000 steps every day.

A completely clean diet.

Daily meditation.

A gratitude journal.

A cold shower.

And a perfectly balanced life.

Sometimes looking after your mental health is much simpler.

Eat something.

Drink some water.

Step outside for ten minutes.

Have a shower.

Text someone you trust.

Say no to something you don't have capacity for.

Go to bed early.

Take a break without feeling guilty.

Or simply do less.

Wellbeing isn't about doing everything perfectly.

It's about noticing what you need and giving yourself permission to meet that need.

Small things count. Rest counts. Imperfect days count too.

Children are turning to AI for mental health support. But what does this mean for their wellbeing?

New research has found that 43% of children aged 11–17 surveyed in the UK had used an AI chatbot or mental health app for emotional support or advice.

While AI can provide instant answers, it cannot replace human connection, understanding or appropriate professional support.

Our latest blog explores why young people are turning to AI, the potential risks of relying on chatbot advice, and why accessible mental health support and safeguarding remain so important.

If you’re a parent, carer, teacher or professional working with children and young people, this is an important conversation to be part of.

High-functioning overwhelm

You can be functioning and still not be okay.

You can go to work.

Reply to messages.

Show up for everyone else.

Get things done.

Smile.

And still feel completely exhausted inside.

Sometimes overwhelm doesn't look like falling apart.

Sometimes it looks like:

• Being constantly “on”
• Feeling irritated by tiny things
• Struggling to switch off
• Feeling overwhelmed by simple decisions
• Cancelling plans because you have nothing left
• Scrolling for hours because your brain can't cope with anything else
• Going to bed exhausted but still being unable to relax

You don't have to reach breaking point before you deserve support.

And you don't have to “push through” everything just because you're still functioning.

Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is recognise that you need rest, support or a change — not more pressure.

Check in with yourself today:

“Am I actually okay, or am I just managing?”

Digital wellbeing

You don't necessarily need a digital detox.

You might need less emotionally exhausting social media.

We often ask ourselves:

“How much time am I spending on my phone?”

But there’s another question worth asking:

“How do I feel after I’ve been on it?”

Do you feel:
• Connected?
• Inspired?
• Entertained?

Or do you feel:
• Anxious?
• Behind?
• Inadequate?
• Overstimulated?
• Drained?

The problem isn't always how long we're online. Sometimes it's what we're consuming and how we're engaging with it.

Try muting accounts that make you feel worse about yourself.

Unfollow content that constantly triggers comparison.

Take a break from endless scrolling when you notice you're using it to avoid how you feel.

And make space for content that genuinely makes you feel connected, informed or uplifted.

You don't have to disappear from social media.

You just deserve a digital environment that doesn't constantly drain you.

EFT & Somatic Regulation

Feeling overloaded? Your nervous system doesn't need a full hour off—it needs 90 seconds of somatic grounding.

As wellness professionals, we know that top-down cognitive tools aren't always enough when the body is in high alert. That's why Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) continue to lead the conversation in body-first stress regulation.

Try this micro-reset right now:
Tap gently on your collarbone points with all fingertips.
Take a slow breath in for 4, hold for 2, and release for 6.
Repeat: "Even with this pressure, I choose to remain grounded and steady."
Tap therapy bridges the gap between psychological support and physiological calm.

Why do we avoid difficult conversations at work?

Sometimes it's because we're worried about saying the wrong thing.

Sometimes we're afraid of upsetting someone.

Post 1 Difficult conversations at work

And sometimes, we simply don't know how to start the conversation.

But avoiding difficult conversations rarely makes the situation easier.

Whether you're a manager addressing performance concerns, supporting an employee who appears to be struggling, or dealing with conflict within a team, how you approach the conversation matters.

A good conversation doesn't need to have all the answers.

It needs:

Empathy
Active listening
Awareness
Respect
Appropriate boundaries

Managers don't need to become counsellors — but they do need the confidence to recognise concerns, have supportive conversations and know when to signpost someone to further help.

Better conversations can make a real difference to workplace wellbeing.

At TT Training Academy, we help organisations develop the knowledge and confidence to approach mental health and wellbeing conversations more effectively.

What makes a resilient leader?

Leadership isn't about never feeling stressed, overwhelmed or uncertain.

It's about knowing how to manage those emotions, respond rather than react, and continue to lead effectively while protecting your own wellbeing.

Emotional resilience can help leaders:

✔️ Make better decisions under pressure
✔️ Handle difficult conversations with greater confidence
✔️ Build healthier workplace relationships
✔️ Manage change and uncertainty
✔️ Set healthier boundaries
✔️ Support the wellbeing of their teams

At TT Training Academy, we believe resilience isn't about expecting leaders to cope with everything. It's about giving them the skills, knowledge and support to cope well.

We've explored practical ways leaders can build emotional resilience and create healthier, more supportive workplaces in our latest blog.
