So Sunday I get a phone call asking if I could repair a Rossi gearbox , the unit had been down since Friday and sent to other repair companies . I did understand why they said no . It was the spiral bevel gears that had sheared . Rossi was very helpful in checking for spares Yes on a Sunday ! But no spiral bevel sets .. We do not cut spiral bevels so I offered to repair while a new unit was shipped from Italy .
There is no guarantee this will work every time .. depends on the load .. but the customer was not producing so anything’s worth a try Customer is King after all .Monday morning the customer is back doing what they do best .
