Here’s a view of the attenuation basin at one of the estates we manage. It's a great example of how practical infrastructure can sit alongside attractive green spaces, helping estates remain both functional and enjoyable environments for residents.

While features like these often go unnoticed, they play an important role in managing surface water and helping to reduce the risk of flooding during periods of heavy rainfall.

Our regular inspections help ensure these areas continue to function as intended, supporting the long-term management of the estate.

Earlier this week we had a lovely time at a BBQ and hog roast hosted by Woodstock Homes to celebrate their latest development, Repton Gardens in Brentry, Bristol.

It was a great opportunity to catch up with the Woodstock Homes team, along with the many people involved in building and bringing the estate to life.

With the heatwave set to continue this week, here are a few simple ways to help keep your home cool and comfortable:

☀️ Keep blinds or curtains closed during the hottest parts of the day
☀️ Open windows early morning or later in the evening when temperatures are lower
☀️ Stay hydrated and avoid using appliances that generate extra heat where possible

BBQs are perfect for this kind of weather, and it’s important to enjoy them safely. Never use BBQs on balconies and always keep them in a clear, open area away from buildings, fencing and anything flammable.

We’re pleased to have recently taken on the management of this beautiful housing estate in Somerset.

As with every new instruction, one of the first steps is understanding the development, listening to residents and identifying the areas where support is needed most.

Parking management is currently a key focus on site, and we’re already working closely with those involved to help find practical solutions that work for the development and its residents.

A beautiful view from a recent site visit from one of our Senior Client Relationship Managers at a development we manage along the River Avon.

Originally a historic mill, this site has plenty of character and, like every development, benefits from regular on-site attention and proactive management.

During the visit, internal and external communal areas were inspected, including meter readings, monitoring ongoing projects and identifying potential maintenance issues before they become larger problems.

Being present on site also creates opportunities to speak directly with residents and hear feedback face to face – an important part of maintaining strong communication and engagement.

With the bank holiday weekend coming up our office will be closed over the long weekend, re-opening at 9am on Tuesday 5th May.

As always if you do need us for a maintenance emergency, our out of hours team is available 24/7 on 0117 957 0809.

For anything less urgent, BNS clients can still log a ticket through the MyBNS portal or app, and we’ll pick this up when we’re back next week.
