It's been a busy autumn so far with lots of gentle sorting happening! It's National Organising Week ( ) next week and so I thought it was a good opportunity to highlight the great work of and share a picture of some of the Bristol APDO members when we met up at Windmill Hill City Farm earlier this week. This week is the (Association of Professional Declutterers and Organisers) Spring Clearing Week, an annual initiative to help the UK declutter! The theme this year is Clear for Calm and all week they will sharing ideas of how everyone can benefit from living in a calmer environment. Gentle Sorting is Katharine Wall, a Bristol-based professional organiser.

I help people sort out their belongings and by extension their lives and I specialise in working with older adults and people going through a transition in their lives.

I’ve set up this business following ten years as a support worker, most recently working with people with dementia and their carers. Through this work it became evident that more hands-on, practical help was needed for people with a lifetime of belongings, especially when they also have a life-changing diagnosis or other significant life events happening.

My mission is to help people to organise and declutter to create more manageable spaces that empower people to get the best out of their space and their lives, helping them to appreciate what really matters.
