It was an absolute honour to be asked to present my journey with the National Composites Centre at their High Value Manufacturing Catapult Roadshow last week. It’s great to see how all the centres work so hard to help SME’s and their passion is so strong. Despite my small stature (especially behind a lectern!), I left feeling very tall indeed. Thank you to everyone who has given me support thus far and to those who were so interested in Lucy Rose on the day!

Great day at my old school being a Apprentice style judge for the sixth form student’s business ideas! It only feels like yesterday I was a student there myself! 🙏🏻🙌🏻

We were delighted to play a part in the recent Business Studies B-tech Apprenticeship Challenge that took place at St Peter's Catholic School.

Our Managing Director, Lucy Bubb, was a member of the judging panel, pictured here, alongside representatives from other local businesses including:

⭐ Nicole Porter, Associate Director at Anderson Acoustics

The event was a 'BBC Apprentice' style affair where students were challenged to come up with real life business ideas and pitch these to the panel in a formal presentation.

"It was a great experience. There was an amazing bunch of young people who demonstrated some fantastic ideas and designed some excellent products. I was particularly impressed with the quality of the presentations that were made after only three hours!

Thanks to Claire Thomas, the head of Business Studies who has been organising this event for several years. It was a pleasure to be a part of it and see some of the excellent young talent that is emerging. A big well done to all students involved."

Couple of world renowned legends here with Adrian Newey and Paul Lanzante 😂
Very impromptu but amazing to meet and have a chat to them both. So many stories to tell and experiences lived 🙏🏻 I even got the seal of approval from Mr Newey himself for my shoe design…that is high praise indeed.

My latest blog is up on my website entitled “The Art of Patience”. Those that have been with me for a while will know all about this and it seems to go hand in hand with frustration. However day by day, little by little we are moving closer to the reason why I started this in the first place.
Seeing it all come together and looking better than I even thought was possible gives me an immense feeling of satisfaction and pride. For all those who have been involved in the journey so far whether it be an email or doing a job for free, I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it 🥰

As they say if it was easy, everyone would do it.

Two legends. One evening. What an amazing experience to meet Lando and Alain - McLaren drivers past and present. Feeling very blessed to be able to have a informal chat with both of them in such a relaxed setting. Dad worked for McLaren for many years and I still feel the impact the company and place has on our family and that of so many others. It has inadvertently steered my own career albeit it in a very different space with what I am doing at Lucy Rose. I can confirm that Lando is just as cool in real life as you’d imagine. I on the other hand was not quite as cool 😅

Satin mules and anklets for the win.
I have been somewhat quiet on Instagram because I get depressed when I don’t get the engagement I see others getting and so I shy away from posting anything, but I thought It’s about time for an update.
If you have been following me for a while you will know we have been developing another prototype which I am excited to say is half way there and is looking very impressive! Incredibly proud of all the progress we have made so far and I am excited to enter the next phase.
This journey is one of extreme ups and downs but I am always focused on the end goal. It feels like we are closer than ever 💪🏻

I know I’m small but…really?! I’m on a step as well!
Fantastic day yesterday at the National Composites Centre seeing my project come to life. The work these guys have put in has been incredible and they are always so supportive of me and the vision, it makes me very proud of how far we have come. Also managed to take the part (second pic) home with me and can’t stop looking at it! Any guesses what it could be? 🤔

Back to shoes being on the grid! Hooray!
So where are we at? Well, the National Composites Centre are currently designing our mould tool to make the carbon fibre parts (I’m ridiculously obsessed with carbon fibre) and a guy called Gino is making some metallic pieces down the road from me in Byfleet. I went to see how he had got on over the Bank Holiday weekend as he said he’d probably be there, but mum and I turned up to locked doors 🤦🏻‍♀️ he had been to a BBQ 😅 fair enough!
Anyway, production is well under way and I’m excited and nervous to see our latest creation in real life. Quite a few people have now asked to be on the “beta tester” list and I’m thinking about getting you all together to show you - DM me or sign up on my website (link in bio) if you want to join! 🥳

Incredibly excited to announce that .ltd has been selected to take part in the Vantage Female Founders Accelerator course to become “investor ready” in 8 weeks. The first session was last week and I can already tell it’s going to be well worth it! 🙌🏻
