Season Two comes to a close.

Eight brilliant women. Eight conversations about voice, identity, and becoming.

I really loved finding out about the many layers of meaning behind Leon Craig’s choice to name her book, The Decadence.

The sense of boredom within debauchery, inspired by a painting; the word “decade” and the sense of teetering change; the Latin word, ‘cadere’ meaning ‘to fall’, a society, a group on the brink of collapse and the banned “degenerate” artists during the N**i regime whose work was considered immoral.

So much in a word! I would really love to hear about any other similarly meaningful titles- if any spring to mind please put them in the comments. I feel a hyperfixation descending.

What does it actually take to find your own voice?

Here, Leon Craig shares that part of it is being willing to be disliked. There’s a particular pressure, especially for women, to be likeable, nice, and agreeable, but maybe you need to push through that.

Love how she sums this up - “you won’t die”!
