Exam week....

My eldest has his second set of GCSE mocks this week .

Do you remember sitting your exams?

I was the studious type.

I made my revision timetable and got on with the work.

Text books, revision notes, flash cards etc... everything organised.

My eldest has a completely different approach.

From my side his preparation looks chaotic🙈 .

It is nerve-wracking to see him work completely differently to the way I did.

I would always be quite nervous, whereas he takes it all in his stride.

I am learning to accept we all work in different ways.

He will find his own way through it I am sure.

Do you think your website visitors would know who you help and who your service is suitable for, within 2 or 3 seconds of landing on your website home page?

If not, you are missing a trick!

If you have a service-based business, the first things website visitors want to know are:

1. Can you solve their problem?

and

2. Would your service be suitable for them?

👉If visitors think you CAN help them, you will need to drive them through the "know, like and trust" process pretty quickly.

At this point visitors are looking for a greater level of connection with you and your service.

You can build this connection further via:

⚡Your services pages - by addressing their frustrations, explaining who your services are suitable for and what outcome they will achieve by working with you

⚡Case studies & About pages - demonstrate your expertise fully by using example client stories & detailing how your background makes you qualified to help

⚡Client testimonials - prove you can do what you say you can

▶️However, if you are not clear about who you help and who your service might be suitable for from the outset, they may not stick around to build that deeper connection.

What's the secret to the perfect call to action on your website?

✔️Focus on one primary call to action that really nails what you want your website visitor to do next.

🔥Have that primary call to action on every page.

⚡Even consider repeating it on the home page.

REALLY think what you want from your primary call to action.

❓Do you want them to book a Discovery Call into your online diary?

❓Do you want to qualify them and ask them to answer some questions and then you will contact them?

❓Do you just want them to call you?

❓Do you want them to book/buy and pay online there and then?

Think through what is realistic for you and for them.

Potential clients who are thinking strongly about your service might be happy to follow that primary call to action.

And if so, happy days.

However, don't forget each potential client is on their own buyer journey.

So, think about placing a more relaxed secondary call to action (or more than one) in a less prominent place.

Some people might want to send a quick message, email you or just connect with you on social media for now.

Make sure you have a few options as everyone likes to communicate differently.

Your website call to action needs to be reviewed every now and again to reflect your growing business so I am not too sure it will ever be perfect! Sorry!

I should hope so.

However, there are some occasions when you need to get an outside perspective.

To see your business as a customer would.

To see your business with fresh eyes 👀 .

To discover all the hidden gems of the amazing customer service you offer that you no longer see.

That's one of the reasons why people call me to help when they build a new website.

Not only do they want words to match their professional website design, they want words that really tell their website visitors how awesome their service is.

Sometimes you can just be too close to the business to see this.

I know this feeling too well because sometimes I need someone to remind me of the high service level I offer!

A website that is full of claims that you can do this or that, is nothing without PROOF.

So, how do you prove it?

⚡Include a "Testimonials" page and update it regularly!

⚡Include a "Case studies" or "Portfolio" page and update it regularly!

Seeing proof that you have happy clients will help potential clients move through the stages of buying with you and it might just convince them to follow your call to action🔥 .
