⛳ “But I don't play golf…” Neither do I!
If you've spotted our Singles 50+ Golf & Drinks Social and thought “that's not for me, I can't play golf” — you can stop worrying!

We're not playing a round of golf. We're heading to the driving range at Gaudet Luce for an hour of trying to hit a golf ball in vaguely the right direction… while also remembering not to let go of the club.

We did this event before and it was such a good night. Lots of laughs, absolutely no pressure to be any good at golf and, rather wonderfully, two people who met that evening are now together. 💕

Who knew romance could blossom over a badly aimed golf ball?

Of course, that's a bonus — our events are first and foremost about meeting other singles, having fun and enjoying a night out without the pressure of speed dating.

We'll meet in the clubhouse for a welcome drink first, head over to the driving range for some fun, then it's back to the clubhouse afterwards for a chat.

I need to confirm our numbers with Gaudet Luce on Tuesday morning, so this isn't one of our usual “just turn up and see who is there” evenings.

These mornings are deliberately relaxed. Grab yourself a coffee or breakfast, sit down and chat – no speed dating, no swiping and no pressure to find "the one" before you've finished your cappuccino!

Just a room full of other 50+ singles who have all turned up for the same reason – to meet people in real life.

We'll have our own dedicated area in the newly refurbished clubhouse and there's a large free car park.

There’s something about being single that we don’t talk about enough… belonging.

Last night, nine of us got together for a BBQ at one of our members’ homes in Tenbury Wells.

We ate far too much, had a few drinks, sat around the table chatting and laughing — and somewhere in the middle of it all, something struck me.

Everyone there was single.

But nobody had gone because they thought they might meet someone new.

We already knew each other.

We went because we’ve become friends.

And I suddenly realised that this is one of the things we can lose when we become single.

When you're part of a couple, there are dinner parties, BBQs, evenings at friends' houses, sitting around a table eating and drinking and catching up with other couples.

When you're single, life can look a little different.

Women often meet up with their girlfriends. Men might head to the pub with their mates. We can have friends, hobbies and perfectly busy social lives.

But that lovely, ordinary feeling of a mixed group of friends getting together over food and drinks can quietly disappear.

And I think we miss it.

Not dating.

Not desperately trying to meet "the one".

Just being invited.

Turning up.

Pulling up a chair.

Laughing around a table with people who are pleased you're there.

Belonging. 💛

Love In Sync started because I wanted to give single people the opportunity to meet each other in real life rather than relying on dating apps.

But somewhere along the way, I think we've created something else too.

Friendships. Familiar faces. People to go places with. People who notice when you haven't been around for a while.

A place to belong while you're single.

And I'm beginning to think that might be every bit as important as finding someone.

A huge thank you to Jared for opening his home to us last night and putting on an amazing BBQ. It was such a lovely evening. 💛

💛 **This is exactly what Affinity is all about...** 💛

Last night, a group of our PLUS members got together for a Mamma Mia Garden Party at Tracey's house.

There were plenty of snacks, drinks, an outdoor cinema under the summer sky and, if I'm honest, most of us couldn't resist singing along to the songs! 🎶😂

But what made the evening special wasn't really the film...

It was the conversations.

The familiar faces.

The laughter.

Catching up with people who have become friends.

When I started Love In Sync, I hoped it would become more than just somewhere to meet other single people.

I wanted to create a community where people genuinely look forward to seeing each other, where friendships grow naturally and where members can enjoy evenings like this together.

Of course, we'd all love people to find someone special along the way ❤️, but belonging to a community like this is pretty special too.

A huge thank you to Tracey for opening her home to us and to everyone who came along and made it such a lovely evening.

This is what Affinity is all about. 💛

☕ What a lovely morning!

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to our 50+ Singles Coffee & Chat this morning.

I'll admit, I was only expecting a handful of people. But whether there are 2 people or 20, I'll always be there. It takes courage to walk into a room where you don't know anyone, and to me every single person who comes along deserves the same warm welcome.

As it turned out... we had 20 people! 😊

It was wonderful to see a great mix of familiar faces and lots of people joining us for the very first time. There was plenty of chatting, laughter and new connections being made over coffee.

It looks like our Coffee & Chat mornings are becoming just as popular as our evening socials, and I couldn't be happier.

Thank you all for helping to create such a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. It's the people who come along that make Love In Sync what it is.
