💙 Carers Week 2026 💙
This week, from 8th–14th June, the nation comes together to recognise and celebrate unpaid carers – the incredible people who provide love, support, and care to family members, friends, and loved ones every single day.
At Visiting Angels North Devon and Cornwall, we want to make it clear that while Carers Week is a wonderful opportunity to shine a spotlight on carers, our appreciation for carers doesn’t begin and end this week. We value and celebrate carers every day of the year.
This week, however, we wanted to do something special for the unpaid carers we know who support our clients when we are not there. These remarkable individuals give their time, energy, compassion, and love without expecting anything in return. Their dedication makes an enormous difference to the lives of those they care for, and we know how deeply grateful their families and communities are for everything they do.
To show our appreciation, we’ve been out delivering flowers and thank-you cards to the unpaid carers we’re aware of as a small token of our gratitude. 🌷💐
We’d also like to give a huge shout-out to all the unpaid carers we may not know personally. You are doing an incredible job. Your kindness, patience, and commitment do not go unnoticed, and you should be immensely proud of the difference you make every day.
Most importantly, please remember that looking after yourself is just as important as looking after someone else. Caring can be rewarding, but it can also be challenging, and nobody should feel they have to face those challenges alone.
Our door is always open. Whether you need a chat, a cup of tea, some advice, guidance, or simply someone to listen, we’re here for you. If you’re an unpaid carer and you’re struggling or need support, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Thank you to every unpaid carer across North Devon, Cornwall, and beyond. You are truly amazing. 💙
