Do I really need a professional headshot?

According to Adam Jacobs article in Forbes (The Importance Of A Good Corporate Headshot) research in the 2012 Cognition and Emotion journal shows we decide whether to trust someone within 100 milliseconds of seeing their face! So do first impressions count? Absolutely! 💯

The article states that in the corporate world, there's no better way to gain a potential client's trust and boost your reputation than by having professional headshots.

It also confirms what I firmly believe. Employee selfies on your About Us page come across as unprofessional and can make your business look cheap!

So a funny thing happened this week. I was emailing my bookkeeper about her upcoming Brand Photography Shoot when I got a phone call on the studio telephone line.​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
It was a bookkeeper offering his services! I have never had a phone call from a bookkeeper offering their services let alone while I was emailing a bookkeeper!​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
Just another funny little way that the universe works.​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
So if an email to a bookkeeper can generate a call from a completely different and unknown bookkeeper imagine what a professional headshot on your website and social media could generate...​​​​​​​​

I've got a long "To Do" list this month as always. It can be quite overwhelming sometimes but I find the trick to getting it all done is to plan and prioritise. Give yourself a realistic number of tasks to do in a day and prioritise them. Get those priority tasks done first even if they are the worst tasks! Then reward yourself with tasks you enjoy. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
And don't forget to build in a bit of time to do something that isn't work related. For me that's going to be making time to get in the greenhouse and start planting some of the seeds I've bought. It's a little sad but I'm pretty excited. I love the growing process, waiting for those little seedlings to appear 🌱 🌱 🌱 ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

What normally happens then is that work goes crazy and I loose them all because I get too busy to look after them! 😂 ​​​​​​​​

That's a huge statistic!

Apparently viewers also retain about 95% of a video message compared to only 10% of a text message!

That's why your brand shoot complimentary showreel is so powerful. As short, less than 1 minute, video showing images from your shoot, designed in your brand colours and using your strapline, keywords and copy. It's great to have on your website or to use on your social media.

Planning is so important. All my brand photography shoots are well planned out during our pre-shoot consultation so that on the day of the shoot everyone knows what they are doing, and when and where they are doing it.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

It's takes all the stress out of the day. Obviously life sometimes throws a curved ball but if everything else is taken care of it's so much easier to deal with the odd blip as it arises. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
