Happy International Women’s Day to all the brilliant women out there. 🌸

Days like today do make me stop for a second and think about how far I’ve come. When I first started out in this industry I never imagined I’d be where I am now. I’m really proud of what I’ve managed to build, but honestly that’s only been possible because of the amazing customers who’ve trusted me, supported me and recommended me along the way — so thank you.

This photo captures one of my favourite recent jobs, mainly because I had a very enthusiastic little helper on site.

This brilliant young lady (aged 4) was desperate to learn and wanted to help with everything I was doing. It was such a treat seeing someone so young so curious and excited about fixing things.

Her parents told me that whenever something breaks in the house she now says:
“Let’s call Rachel to fix it.”

I think I might have just recruited my youngest apprentice yet! 👩‍🔧

Also worth noting… she clearly got the memo on the uniform, because we both turned up with pleats in our hair!

It’s our final week on the bathroom/boiler extravaganza! At times it’s like being a detective and we’ve been loving every second. (We even made our own evidence board!) There have been a few minor issues along the way but we stripped it back, made it right and future proofed this lovely wee space - and in the next few days the transformation will unfold.

I'm sending a slightly early Merry Christmas to all of my wonderful customers this year.

I have received such incredible support, kind words and patience from so many lovely people. There have been a few hiccups along the way, but it feels good to look back and know I've overcome each and every one, and it's made me stronger than I knew possible! Thank you everyone for helping me to make 'Gassie Lassie' such a success!

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I'll be back on January 6th to get started on another rollercoaster of a year.
