Over the past few months I have been working on the family tree for an Australian client. The request was to find out about his English relatives from great grandfather down. After much searching, I have managed to locate a living relative, and with agreement of both parties, they are now in contact.
The work does not stop there though, as there is a family story that some relatives moved to Canada, so that will be the next area to look at.
Whilst I am UK based, I can help you wherever you may be and wherever your family may be (surviving records dependant).
Why not contact me now to see how I can help?

We might be UK based but we accept clients from all over the world.

New blog and first post!

I have always had a fascination with history in general. Initially with railways and the industrial revolution. Childhood visits to places such as Beamish, Ironbridge, and summer holidays in Cornwall with the tin mines were never a bore and set a seed that would flourish in later life. Five or six y...

You never know where information may turn up.
The Imperial War Museum has a section for people to record Lives of the First World War.
Thanks to a cross reference, I found this newspaper cutting of my Great great grandfather.
It also give me leads to other relatives.

So with lockdown continuing, I've been working on my personal tree, tidying up a few loose ends and gathering more information.
I have recently found about 60 pages of military records for my maternal Great Grandfather ranging from his enlistment at age 14 in 1893 to his discharge in 1919.

The amount of detail is a little overwhelming, and the need to record the source accurately is also time consuming.

Recording the source of information is the most important part of genealogy, possibly more important than the fact itself. Without an accurate source, you or anyone else cannot go back and check and confirm the accuracy of the information.

Information without a source is just a story.......

What better way to spend a bank holiday, than learning how to use my new record keeping software!
Legacy allows me to record every possible detail of every person, along with all sources, citations and any additional media such as photos, videos and other documents.
All I have to do now is put all the information in!
